I get asked about this a lot. I will absolutely do what you wish, but as a DJ, this is the worst advice ever. 🙅‍♂️ First, most people request songs they love, not songs they will dance to. 💃 So you get a great list of songs for a long drive in your car, but not for a dance floor. 🚗 Second, you end up with more songs than you can play during the evening, and those people whose songs are not played may get upset. 😒 But most of all, this just creates more work for the couple to do, and you are paying for a DJ who should already know how to start the party! 🕺 They now have to take all those requests and enter them into a single list to send to the DJ. 📝

What's better is to hire a good DJ. It's the DJ's job to know how to work the room and find the best songs to fit. 🎧 The bride and groom provide the DJ with their top 20 songs that they love (not what they think will work) so the DJ knows their style and can build a day around the couple! It is, after all, their day! 💑
