Attention all homeowners in Kittitas County that have an On-site Septic System:

The Board of County Commissioners is proposing to raise the dump fee for the 3rd straight year to .28/gallon. This is over a 50% increase since 2022. I can assure you there has been no update to the Ryegrass Facility to justify this increase.

For comparison, Yakima County uses the same lagoon ponds and land application and their dump fee is .12/gallon. King County, which actually processes waste, is .15/gallon.

CALL TO ACTION: you can email the Board of Commissioners at [email protected] stating you do not agree with the price increase for Liquid Waste at the Ryegrass Facility.

There is a meeting at 2pm today in the Commissioner's Auditorium where letters and testimony can be heard.

At Brown & Jackson we hear first hand the financial strain it is to maintain a septic system or have an emergency backup. This is an expense that is rarely budgeted for and usually comes at the most inconvenient times. The 3 County Commissioners in office are the ones that have approved every rate increase the last several years. We don't feel that another increase is justified.

-Snow Bike and Snowmobile Racing with multiple classes including kids snowmobile classes, Farm Boy Fan cooled Class and our own version of skijorning without a horse 😎

-We are looking for sponsors for this unique event and hope to attract multiple upper county members and businesses to partner with and steer business your way.

-Big thanks to Wendy and Leslie at the Washington State Horse Park, The City of Cle Elum and the Cle Elum Roundup who will be handling the public beer garden with all profit proceeds staying within the Horse Park to improve their facility for our four legged equine friends!

-Big thanks to Kory Gibson and Gibson and Son for stepping up to my crazy idea to create this wintertime race with building the track as well as plowing the facility for access.
