It’s official the snow is here! And with snow always comes the question of if the pheasants survive through the winter, so here it is…

Pheasants survive in snow by finding and using high-quality winter cover, such as shelterbelts and cattails, to protect against wind and cold.

They can survive for days without feeding by using their stored body fat, though deep ice and lack of food are more dangerous threats. Their survival depends on having quality habitat with food and cover close to one another.

At A1 Al’s we are dedicated to providing the pheasants with plenty of cover and food to survive through the winter. We have a variety of sorghum, trees, cattails, corn and various kinds of grasses that are perfect for the birds!
