Even though the kids aren’t as little, native Mason bee hatching is an event! Just ordered new cocoons from to be picked up this week at the Lane Co. Extension office from #linncountymastergardeners and will also get more @downtoeartheugene.
Will keep the cocoons in the refrigerator to preserve the females reserve energy until the weather is more consistent and our orchard begins to bloom, giving a sustainable food source.
Linn County puts out Bee Notes which always has new information about how our local bee populations are doing and new to me recommendations on when and how to let them hatch. Highly recommend!

More bees this year than ever, since I’ve concentrated on perennial > annual flower blooms throughout the year! They are loving the lavender I grew last year from cuttings.
Someone was very hungry this morning!
