Happy New Year! I did a little rework in the “Charlie Greenhouse” for Buddy the macaw and Blue Lou the iguana. They love it!

Sprucing up the new”ish” python habitat with more branches and a papyrus plant. The pythons on the top shelf are a 9’ orange glow reticulated python (Sunshine) and a 10’ Burmese python (Fluffy). Curtis the 4’ short tail python has decided the fresh water jar is his favorite spot.

This is Scaley Bob. He was gifted to me by Chip Bridges in Asheville, NC as a 7 year old “retired breeder” Okeetee corn snake circa 2001 if memory serves. That makes him 30 years old. He has cataracts and has been retired from the education programs for a few years. Sometimes he eats, sometimes he doesn’t. I figure it’s all bonus time now and really an end to an era.

BUT, a new era is beginning at Nature Joe’s. After a rough 5 years of pandemic and bad landlords, the animals and I have landed in a good spot and are in the process of building an outpost of animal education and interaction. A place with animal friends hoping to see you.

So stay tuned there is so much more coming soon.
