Recently had the chance to shoot my niece’s wedding and sheesh! It’s crazy seeing her get married since we’ve known her from a tiny baby wth 😂. We got some amazing images in a place we had no idea existed and THE BEST light and weather you could ask for AT 12pm or any other time of day to be honest! That’s the time we had available for the day and God blessed it! 😆

I’d probably also rock the toothpick 😂 Funny sorry, when I took the pic, no pun intended, he asked if he should take it out and I told him if that’s you then let’s keep it in and he said, yup that’s me 😂 Love it! I don’t want to change a thing if that’s you let’s do it and keep it real.

Throwback to my old canon t2i.
I still have it but not sure if it still works. 🤷

Crazy this was 2011 when I first started getting into photography! My poor family was with me as we chased (I think) about 14000 lightning strikes rolling through Hawaii. They were crashed out in the car 😂 and it was almost midnight. The storm just went off shore in Waimanalo and you never know when and where it’ll strike. I just pointed my camera in that direction on a cheap tripod and prayed. 😝 after about 20 minutes…

Quality wasn’t the best but super blessed to have this picture.

Started in landscapes and now pairing it with couples is pretty epic!

Wanderer…

One thing I love doing with any time of day during a wedding photos is taking a sec to say “hey, hang out for a few seconds. I’m going to take a quick look around and see how the light is falling.” Every second, minute, day, time of year and weather changes even the same place we’ve shot at a million times. Photographers can easily miss the chance to shoot something completely different and incredible! If I had one big secret for photos this would be it. Stop, look at what you’re looking at, walk around, then look again 😂. I don’t know if this would work but why not try shooting through a waterfall cause if it does 🤷 “not all who wander are lost” 😝

Emotional.

One of the most beautiful and important people in my life got married this weekend. One of my baby girls. I don’t know how most fathers feel when they give away their daughters but their lives literally flash in front of your eyes. For me, it’s was a mix of joy knowing this man has his foundation in the Lord and vowed to treat my daughter’s relationship with God more important than their own… mixed with feelings of thankfulness that I had the opportunity to raise you.

I’ve seen it hundreds of times. The father placing his daughter’s hand into the groom’s but the moment where he spins into your spot, walks her the rest of the way and literally takes the place you once held her entire life up hits you hard. ( great… another time of a wedding for me to cry at 😂)

Fathers will always be fathers, but not always their children’s protector, provider, and comforter. Your bed will be empty, but your new home will be full of life and a new adventure with a man that will continue to lead you in the Lord and take care of you. (You better Yoel or else👊💥 jk lol)

In all my shortcomings, God has been faithful and His Grace sufficient. I’m excited for the way God will use you and the many blessings that will come y’alls way!! Congratulations Kalena & Yoel! I love you!
