My husband has been around me enough to know how to handle a camera, especially if I coach him a little. It is very difficult for me to be on the other side due to being self conscious (this is my fifth baby!), but so far every pose has been one that I have either wanted to do or dreamed of shooting but not had the model...the milk bath maternity for instance. Bless his heart for being so patient and making sure I get my dream poses in before our baby girl arrives.

There are quite a few sessions that I have donated because I can't imagine expecting anything in return. The people in those moments tend to be experiencing fear of an upcoming loss that is life changing. The last thing they need is to worry about paying someone to capture what could be some of the last pictures they have with their loved one. I didn't start my journey into photography to make money. I started because I didn't have enough of it to take all the beautiful milestone photos of my own children. Everyone deserves a beautiful memory.

I have had two people I care about lose a beloved animal this week. That kind of loss is never something your heart is prepared for. The sweet girl below is my Millie, easily one of the great loves of my life. It has been over a year without her and it still wrecks me that she is gone. Obviously, I was obsessed with her because my other puppers is named Willie.
I want to offer to anyone that might see a prism of color start to fall over their beloved animal the chance to message me so that I can do what I can to donate my time and capture a memory with your friend before they cross the rainbow bridge.

GUESS WHAT?! Sweet Tea is also very accomplished in furniture and restoration! My husband built this table for our kiddos three years ago and I have finally convinced him to try selling them for other families to enjoy. Ours definitely show the knicks and dents of homework through the online learning days and many lego builds. While I could just sand it down and re-stain it, I'm the kind of person that likes seeing the scars of a life well-lived. Yours will come pristine for your kids...or you (I'm going to be using it as a folding table for the next few days.)

Anybody else obsessed with their fur babies? I LOVE when someone asks if their pet can join a session! The answer is..."Duh!" Professional me would actually tell you, "Of course! Give me all the squishy paws!" 😆

A $25 find from our neighborhood rec center has been waiting for a makeover for almost two years. Yesterday was the day! I use this as my holiday/seasonal photo display, and I love the ability to easily change the theme. I have hundreds of photos of my children, and this table has been instrumental in getting to see all of the pictures I've taken over the years.

A Texas bluebonnet photo was on my bucket list for years, so the one I was able to take of my daughter hangs up in our living room with pride. Just remember to be safe and keep others safe as well!

Dogs are always welcome in any of my sessions! Everyone needs a great photo of their furry family members! These are ours, Rooster and Willie. We just finished refurbishing my husband's childhood nightstand for one of our sons, and I thought it made a good place to show off the newest picture I framed. My basement is like a frame shop and I happened upon this one. I knew exactly what picture needed to be in it. Look at those cuties!

Merry Christmas!

My husband brought me into the future with a mirrorless camera, and I am shocked by the difference!! I am not tech savvy or obsessed; if I can create art with it, it's good enough for me. This was all him and his research, and I am so moved by how much he understands where I find joy. I can't wait to use it!

Framing photos is almost as fun for me as taking them. Is it weird that I wish I could teach a course where we'd go hang out, take some pretty pictures, and then go print and frame them? I have so many tips!

This was such a fun and simple photo to not just take, but also edit. I went from taking the picture on our dining table and up to the computer to do this within ten minutes. I wanted it to feel like it came from a time gone by, and I think I succeeded. I LOVE Halloween photography!! If you have any kind of idea, big or small, that you would like captured, feel free to contact me! I love having kids get into the spirit and really feeling like whatever their costume might be! Adults included! We have smoke bombs coming in again this year!
