For most of my adult life, I have been the “go-to“ Auntie and friend for help with weddings, showers, funerals and gatherings in general.. I’ve always been told I should do it for a living. So, I’ve decided that this is the time.! I may be just who you need to help plan

your DIY event from the very beginning, or perhaps you just need help in certain areas.. I am “Auntie M to the rescue”..! Wedding/event decorations: I’m not a caterer. I’m not a florist. I’m not a supplier. I’m not a talent agency. What I am, is that Auntie who can roll up her sleeves and figure it out. We can sit down and discuss your vision, theme, venue and budget. Maybe you know exactly what you want. We can make it happen. Perhaps you have no idea what you want; “Just make it nice”. We can do that too.!

Well, I can help.! I work only with silk flowers, so that we know exactly what we have available and can be assured that decorations for your event are completed before that day (Fresh flowers die and I work from home in my own hours.). .. Sometimes people choose to have real flowers for the bouquets and boutonnières and then, use silks for the centerpieces and supplemental florals.. This is a great way to cut costs. My first priority is to fulfill YOUR wishes for a nice event. Whatever we can do within your budget in a creative manner, we will do. Next is to ease your stress; of knowing someone has your back and that it will be beautiful AND I am ALWAYS thinking of saving you money, so you can begin your lives without a huge financial burden. Many items that you need could be in my stash of decorations that I’ve kept from previous weddings. Centerpieces, vases, glass stones, beads, ballerina skirting for head table, etc. Even some full floral arrangements, garlands and other silk flowers that may compliment things that you have. (This is a big part of keeping your costs down. I get to keep some decorations that you wouldn’t need for your own keepsakes.) My fees are structured in a way to make it worthwhile for me, yet economical for you. Please contact me for more details.

I can help you plan a buffet meal, or maybe add some homemade sides for your event. (Funerals, parties, showers, etc.) Help with set-up, last-minute errands, replenishing food and clean-up. (An hourly rate would apply to all help.) Maybe you want to give an old garage sale item new life to use in your event (or your home), upscaling old decorations or borrowed things from somebody. We can work with these too.! We’ll figure it out..! Because I work from home, many items are made in my “spare” “hobby” time while watching TV at night, etc.. Assist on the day of your DIY event:

So, we’ve planned the decorations, locations and layout of tables, seating, made bouquets and bridal party flowers and you’ve got family/friends helping with the setup. (Remember, this is a budget DIY.).. Who’s going to orchestrate everyone? “Auntie M to the Rescue.! “

I’m also an ordained officiant in the state of Michigan. I am able to perform a marriage ceremony and have also officiated a funeral when Covid made it difficult to obtain a minister. (I was commended on both occasions and can give references if necessary.) Whatever your DIY event needs may be, we’ll figure it out.!
