Our next photographer is a returning volunteer, and we are so delighted she is joining us again for her 3rd year!

Hi! I'm Sharilyn Wells and I love photography, Starbucks, animals, superheroes and my family. I am stubborn, creative, silly, and loyal. My passion is capturing your special moments and freezing them in time. It's sorta a super power I acquired!
I am an award-winning, certified professional photographer that has been photographing professionally for a little over 10 years. Friends joke around with me that I always have a camera attached to me. I am pretty much self taught and always learning new and creative aspects of photography. I have been lucky enough to learn from the best military photographers while I served in the U.S. Army and tend to stick with a more photojournalistic way of photography. I am a military spouse as well and have gone through too many deployments and understand the hardships that come along with them. I'm volunteering my time to give back to those who are tending to the home-front while supporting their loved ones overseas. Our service members give so much and ask for little in return. Photographing families/spouses/furbabies while they are gone is just something small I can do to show how much I appreciate our military families.

When I say I love watching life happen in front of my lens… I mean it.
It’s funny how life (and the military) moves you around but you end up catching up right back where you started.
We recreated images for this awesome family , AT THE SAME LOCATION, but with TWO more children. ❤️ I loved every moment of this session. Little brother had me WORK for this smiles…& the stick he wanted to play with 😂! So many giggles and fun.

I have watched this family grow up in front of my lens. They’ve seen me grow as a photographer. They are so much fun to be around and they’re getting so tall! ❤️ They’re fall photos this year brought joy to me.

I just want to take a moment of silence - more like 10 minutes of silence.

That's how long the shooter shot at a bunch of free-spirited country music lovers at the Route 91 Harvest Music Festival in Las Vegas, NV seven years ago. In just 10 minutes, he took 58 lives with him. 10 horrifying minutes.

From 10:05pm to 10:15pm PDT 58 lives were lost. Gone forever. 422 were wounded. Totaling 851 injured. Sadly, it remains the deadliest mass shooting committed by an individual in the history of the United States.

I grew up in (what was then) a suburb of Las Vegas, but Las Vegas is where I say I'm from. Not many people know about Henderson so I'm from Las Vegas. Las Vegas has my heart.

I have family, friends - many loved ones in (and around) Las Vegas. I have friends who were on the Strip at the time the shooting occurred. I have friends who contemplated going to the festival. I have family that was damn near close to going to the festival. All to have fun. Hear good music. Enjoy life.

Not even an hour into the festival the shooting began. My heart sank, and still is in pain for my hometown and the lives that were murdered in cold blood. I was GLUED to the TV that next morning, with goosebumps all over - Calling, texting and watching for the "marked safe" on Facebook from loved ones.

In 2019, I was able to visit the makeshift LV Healing Garden and wow, what a sight. A beautiful place to reflect on the events and the lives lost. (The new, permanent memorial will be even more amazing). So much love and strength in decorating, memorializing, and ensuring the city never forgets.

I will never forget Las Vegas.
