Sam Outlaw makes their debut at Robert’s Westside this Thursday, December 5th!
In 2018, Sam and his family moved from LA to Nashville, and the following year, Sam made his Grand Ole Opry debut. Since then, Sam has made several appearances on the Grand Ole Opry and on countless more stages around the world.
In 2021 he released his third LP “Popular Mechanics” and in 2022 and 2023 released a string of B-sides and singles that showcase Sam’s unconventional blend of genres and subject matter, including Holler’s “Best New Country” track Do You Really Love Me? featuring Jay Dee Maness on pedal steel (The Byrds, Desert Rose Band).
On September 13th Sam released an imaginative cover of the 1986 alt rock single “Ask”, written by Morrissey and Johnny Marr of The Smiths.
Earlier this year, Sam released his new LP Terra Cotta and embarked on a successful world tour across seven countries.
Since returning home, the Americana Music Association announced Sam’s official showcase at this year’s AmeriacanaFest in Nashville, alongside marquee artists Ashley Monroe, The Lone Bellow, and Nathaniel Rateliff.
Sam is an Americana Award winning artist who rarely releases cover songs, in part because his original songs have garnered plenty of their own critical acclaim and worldwide attention. Songs like “Ghost Town”, “Tenderheart” and “For The Rest of Our Lives” have racked up multiple millions of streams and views, and earned him fans in every corner of the globe.
Admirers include Ryan Adams who has publicly praised Sam for his “beyond great songwriting” and the late John Prine that welcomed Sam to open some of his final shows.
