Yesterday was absolutely dreamy. Aubrey Nicole Photography setup a day of mini unicorn photo shoots and the kids were incredible with Lil Sebastian.

Sebastian leaves for California soon, but don’t worry we’re hard at work making sure unicorn photo shoots are here to stay.

The animals are now available for photo shoots, and we have a supremely adorable crew.

Our animals include our miniature donkey, Nigerian dwarf goats, hens, bunnies and Guinea pigs.

All images included are by photography, featuring our animals.

Our new team members are the sweetest 8 week old Holland Lop sisters. They are way more rambunctious than the boys were at 12 weeks 😆✌🏼, but are definitely our cutest team members yet. April is fully booked, but we still have some openings in May.

Your event is not booked until the deposit is paid. We get multiple requests for the same day all the time, and we only do one event per day.

We will always give you second email to let you know that you need to book, but please pay your deposits now if you’re wanting to secure your date.

March is such an exciting month for Backyard Barnyard. We’re taking the month off from events to focus on prepping for the busy season.

We have a ton of exciting updates coming this season including getting new team members Sunday and Pancakes fully onboarded, hiring some new bunny/chick interns and getting our trailer wrapped so that everyone knows who you’ve invited to your backyard party.

Sunday and Pancakes are home from the quarantine facility, but still quarantined at home.

We are still very much working through their recovery and veterinary care.

It’s important not to do too many things at once, as tempting as it is. But this weekend, they’re getting a much needed deworming.

The vet said Pancakes has cleared his infection and Sunday has no signs of illness. She is concerned about Sunday being too skinny still, so we’re going to see if he’ll take soaked beet pulp again.

This is great news that signs of them being contagious are gone, because I can feel better about bringing them to the farmhouse. They’ll still be isolated from other horses for at least 4 more weeks, maybe longer.

What I’m most excited about is having them closer, and starting to work with them on leading. The quarantine facility they’re at currently is 25 minutes away.

Wednesday marks 35 days in quarantine for Sunday and Pancakes. The vet is coming out again this week, and we’re hoping to get the okay to bring these boys home.

Since Pancakes had some respiratory symptoms we’re doing a full 45 day quarantine and then continuing precautions once they’re settled at the farmhouse.

Pancakes and Sunday are ready to brave the cold with their new blankets. Thank you Happy Horse Tack Shop for having all the goods to keep even the minis warm. Sunday is in a foal blanket and Pancakes is barely big enough for a 48” 🥺😭💜.

A typical Colorado welcome for Pancakes and Sunday.

For some reason every time I bring a horse to Colorado, they’re welcomed by a snowstorm.

They now have their forever names, Pancakes (pony) and Sunday (donkey).

I learned this week that they were headed to slaughter tomorrow.

Cheers to tomorrow being day 1 for Pancakes (~7 yo) and Sunday (~2 yo). 🍻 It’s been a heavy but beautiful week already at Backyard Barnyard.

We got a picture today from Day 1 of quarantine for our new babies. I’m driving to Oklahoma this weekend to meet them and get them settled into their longer term quarantine facility.

Today we welcome two new high potential team members.

Both are rescues from Oklahoma, a mini donkey and mini pony (soon to be named), whom will be in quarantine in OK for a little over a month, before joining us on the farm.

We will be driving to Oklahoma this weekend to transport these cuties to their quarantine facility in OK.

We can’t wait to share their cute little faces with you all!
