On The Bit Events, LLC was created in order to support the running of high quality dressage shows and other equine events in the New England area. On The Bit Events, LLC can organize, schedule, execute, score and archive the results and show data for each and every show. OTBE has created tailored packages to help suit each individual client’s needs as a pre-event consultant and to assist existing

show management teams in staffing and solving any issues that may arise, such as finding vendors, advertising and solving all staffing needs from recognized officials to pre-trained scoring teams. Liz also has experience planning clinics, open-houses, hunter-paces, tradeshow campaigns, weddings and other events. Liz believes in high quality customer service for both clients and competitors. She created On The Bit Events, LLC to be able to meld her passion for horse shows, event planning and her overall love for horses. OTBE was created in the Fall of 2013 and we are already looking forward to a busy season. Presenting a high quality event, regardless of whether it is a schooling show, hunter-pace or a USEF sanctioned competition, is the mission of On The Bit Events. Happy ! Help us celebrate by meeting Team #659: Raymond Denis and Neokolis (MA).

Neokolis (age 30) had 30 racing starts and was in the money six times. From there, his career path took him into the world of hunter/jumper competitions. After a successful second career, Neokolis went on to a third helping special needs students through a therapeutic riding program. He was then turned out to pasture and found by his current owner, Jonathan Hall, who took him on a “free lease.” Jonathan took Neokolis to Atkinson Riding Academy in New Hampshire for recovery and restored him to working condition with the help of Crystal Little, owner/trainer of Atkinson Riding Academy.

Raymond (age 70) began his riding career as a professional in 1971 at a Myopia Hunt Club polo. His involvement at the club included polo groom/trainer, fox hunting, and later combined training. In 1977, Raymond apprenticed with John Pingree at Huntington Farm Horse Trials, Vermont. He was given Combined Training Technical Delegate status and later Dressage Technical Delegate status by the American Horse Show Association (now USEF).

Raymond also had great accomplishments in the field of humane equine welfare through the inclusion of equine ambulances at events, rules of whip use, and guidelines for the United States Polo Association. Raymond said, “I currently officiate an average of 20 dressage shows and events each year and I am the voice for the horses in competition because they cannot speak for themselves.”

Raymond also said, “I thank The Dressage Foundation’s Century Club for the opportunity to re-test my equine skills with Neokolis and I thank God for the ability to do so after four major surgeries during the year 2021. I had not ridden a horse for 10 years before the Century Club ride on June 10, 2023, and Neokolis and I are both very proud of each other!”

• In case of still two ties, a silver dollar coin flip determines
the winner with 2nd place getting the silver dollar

On The Bit Events, LLC is a full service Equine Events Management company created by Liz Oertel Johnson in 2013. Liz has over a decade of experience as secretary, manager and organizer of dressage, horse trials, jumper shows, symposiums and clinics. OTBE is also offering additional services such as business branding, sales marketing, social media marketing and entry management. We have a fantastic network of high quality professionals, whose work has been vetted and tested, which we work with for additional support and services.

OTBE will create tailored packages to help suit each individual client’s needs as a pre-event consultant. We will assist existing show management teams in staffing and solving any issues that may arise, such as finding vendors, advertising and solving all staffing needs from recognized officials to pre-trained scoring teams. Liz has experience planning clinics, open-houses, hunter-paces, tradeshow campaigns, weddings and other events.
