It’s hard to believe school started this week for us and our little summer break has come to an end. We were craving more routine and it feels pretty great to be back to our school day schedule. I love seeing all the other homeschooling mamas back at it as well, encouraging each other, answering questions, and sharing their favorite supplies. Now if anyone has any tips for keeping a very busy and feisty toddler busy while I school the older kids feel free to drop them in the comments!

When everyone thought we were nuts for selling our perfectly good house to move into an RV this is the life I would describe to them, this is the why. Why we spent 18 months with endless renovations and moves. We were tired, and we still have a long list of projects on our new property. But it was all for this. All to have a place for us to learn to grow our own food, care for animals, and give our boys room to run. Growth does not come without discomfort or hard work. It is easy to stay comfortable but so rewarding to learn new things and do the hard parts.

Take the photos mama; capture the videos of your babies. Even if you don’t feel “perfect” or “ready” having photos of your babies will always be perfect. These days are fleeting, hold onto them with everything you have, they won’t stay forever. We miss the days that have passed, but long for the days to come, to watch them grow. Get in the photos mama, one day they will be all we have to sharpen the memories we have of our babies. PC

It has been an incredible week visiting our family and friends, with so much to celebrate. It has filled me up to the brim! But we are definitely missing our sweet little animals, and so excited to pick up our hens when we get back home. What a blessing it is to be able to hop on a plane and visit the people we love, and then hop back on and be home!

Just a boy and his dog. How sweet it is watching him take care of and nurture his animals. Dolly is turning out to be the best dog, all the wonderful things people say about Great Pyrenees is true 🙌🏻. Now we just need to get her some chickens to watch over, and maybe some goats, and a duck 🤪. If you have chickens I would love for you to share your favorite breeds so I can add them to my list!

This little kitchen has come a long way since we moved in. It started out as pieces sort of thrown together and we worked hard to create a cohesive, very functional space. I knew I wanted a farmhouse/ cottage feel for the kitchen so after hours of research I decided on this faux stone with a heavy “schmear”. Find yourself a friendship like Shepherd Dean + Marigold Sunshine have. We had the best visit from my sister and her family over the weekend and these two were inseparable, per usual. I’ve never met a sweeter pair and I love listening to thier little conversations. There are no better friends than siblings and cousins.

Every time someone learns I have three boys they always ask if I will try for a girl. My response remains consistent, we might have more babies but boy or girl, it doesn’t matter. There is something really special about raising all boys and I really love it. I get to raise up God fearing, strong, but kind men. Men the next generation needs to be leaders, husbands, & fathers. What a privilege it is to be their mother, and let me tell you, boys just really know how to make their mama feel loved ☺️. PC

I’ve been fighting a mental battle of what I’m doing with my little creative business since moving twice, having another baby, and multiple renovations. I keep tossing ideas around, and asking myself what I really want out of it. I obviously want to monetize it again, but that doesn’t come easy in today’s ever changing climate and a move halfway across the country. I started in the wedding industry, and I still love that part. But, taking care of my family is the most important thing, so I can only take on a few a year. I’m dreaming up ideas on how serving you all can collide with home life. The most questions and interest I receive in my inbox are always 1. Please share your recipe for…. 2. How did you DIY this….. project in your home. So, thank you all for being here through all the personal sharing and lack of wedding content. It’s just what feels right in this season.

I have to share one last Christmas post because this view is something I want engraved in my mind. I hope the joy, magic, and pure happiness this season brings is something they hold onto forever as well. Now back to the weird week between Christmas and New Years where we are all trying to just figure out what day it is, and maybe be a little bit productive but also finish off all the holiday treats.

Merry Christmas Eve, friends. May your hearts be full and may you be surrounded by those you love. We are missing so many, but also so content just being us this Christmas. We also gained a family member today, she’s the sweetest little puppy I’ve ever met, and the boys are in love ✨.

🎶 This week I’ve baked 8 loaves of sourdough, 6 sheets of gingerbread, 3 dozen sugar cookies, 2 batches of turtle cookies, and a partridge in a pear tree 🎶. Okay, maybe not that last one, but we love some Christmas baking in our house! Cookie tip, instead of chilling my dough, I like to cut my shapes then place them on a cookie sheet and freeze for 5-10 minutes before baking. This helps them keep their shape and you don’t have to wait to bake!

I sure missed having a house full of loud boys while they were gone hunting all weekend. Don’t get me wrong, I enjoyed baby snuggles while watching all the cheesy Christmas movies and baking all the things, but it’s good to have them back! Now onto the best week while we cram in every last bit of Christmas magic. We also plan on making all our favorite cookies this week, we usually stick with gingerbread, decorated sugar, and chocolate-pecan-caramel ones that I don’t have a name for; but I want to try something new, send me your family favorites 🙌🏻. I sure hope all four of my neighbors like sourdough because I finally made kamut sourdough and I’m hooked! So I’ll be doing even more bread baking in the coming weeks. I love giving little handmade gifts, usually edible, with simple wrapping. It might stem from my obsession with watching Little Women one million times during winter and wanting to live out their Christmas 🤷🏼‍♀️. I used all the tips and recipe from and .farm to make the kamut sourdough, I highly recommend them both for all your bread endeavors!

Magical little Christmas treasures. This year we have been able to keep some traditions the same, like baking for neighbors, decorating cookies, and watching Home Alone in pjs while we all cringe during the nail in the foot scene; you know the one 🥴. But we of course have had to miss some of our beloved traditions with friends and family. Does it make us a little sad? Yes. Does it take away from the magic and true reason we celebrate season? No way! Spending our days together as a little family and rejoicing in the birth of our savior is more than we will ever need to make it special. What are some of your favorite Christmas traditions that you can’t miss??

Oh Duke, my jolly little babe who likes to steal the dried oranges off the gift wrapping and eat them. I have had so much fun shopping for the boys’ gifts this year! Everything has been from a small shop or thrifted, which means was able to put so much intention into every single item. We are fiercely missing our family and friends but still creating the best memories and soaking up every second of the season ✨.

We eat most meals at home and having dinner ready every single night can take a lot of preparation, so some days I need simple. One of my easy and healthy go-to meals is a Mediterranean board. I always have chicken in my freezer thanks to ButcherBox] to throw in an easy marinade and grill. From there it’s pretty much already made items like hummus and pita bread. Even my kids love this dinner and everyone can add whatever they like into their pita so it’s a real crowd pleaser.

Chicken & Marinade
1 pound chicken breasts
1 lemon (zest and juice)
½ cup olive oil
3 garlic cloves (grated or minced)
2 teaspoons smoked paprika
2 teaspoons cumin
2 teaspoons garlic powder
1 teaspoon ground turmeric
¼ teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 teaspoon salt, or to taste
Pepper to taste
Sear chicken on the grill (about 375) then cook on low (or upper rack of your bbq) for 15-20 minutes or until the chicken is 165 degrees.

Serve with your choice of pita, rice pilaf, hummus, garlic spread, grilled veggies, tabuoli, or tzatziki.
