We had quite a rain last night and are now seeing the effects with the surge pushing the S**o River above 7 feet overnight. While the USGS S**o River gauge in Conway shows the water receeding, be aware that the water levels in Fryeburg will take at least 24 hours to return to normal. There is significant debris in the heavily silted, fast flowing water increasing the danger for those planning S**o River trips this weekend. Fryeburg Emergency Management recommends staying off the river until conditions are safer once water levels drop and the water velocity decreases.
Stay safe out there.
