first Thursday of Sept. At 6pm the womens Etowah County Dem club wants to have a panel to discuss the problems (both social and legal) LGBTQ members of the community face in our community.

We would like to thank the 6:52 Project. 6:52 Project is a black, minority-owned, and led organization whose purpose is to educate, eradicate, and combat stigma associated with marginalized or key populations most impacted by HIV, other STDs and STIs, and racial; social; and gender justice issues. Additionally, the 6:52 Project focuses on issues of importance for women of color and other communities of need.

We would like to thank the health services center in Anniston for giving resources to the event.
They are a Community Based Organization and medical clinic providing HIV/AIDS medical care, education, and support to multiple counties in East Alabama.

Happy Pride everyone. Thank you for everyone being able to come out and celebrate.
This year's It event is over.
However More events will be happening right now we are planning a Halloween party, a d&d one shot LARP with actual band battle music, and an event on Trans Remembrance Day.

If you would like to get involved in any of those or in the community space planning these contact the pages messenger.

They're also is some free merch left to give including Pride gear and Moxie haircut tickets. To enter for those items simply post about the events from this weekend using the hashtag .

Ok. Last post pre-march.
Weather says we're in the clear through the event. It may rain once we're in the coffee bar make sure you bring umbrellas.

It will be hot as such make sure You have a water bottle and have had water or Gatorade within the hour. I'll be getting over to the site around 12:50. The security meeting will start at 1:15. The March will begin after the meeting and all participants have some water or Gatorade in their system.

Thank You. Due to the incredible response from the community we no longer are in need of snacks or water/drinks.

We still however need volunteers to man the snack/ drinks area, 2 volunteers to get people's info the day of, and a few escorts so we are in groups of 3 or more as we move to our cars after the event.

Updates on Sunday.

We're having a small pride march down broad st./ Sidewalks.
Well get started on the adjacent 1st Street at the gazebo at 1:15pm There will be a 15 minute security meeting and will get started at 1:30 will march from 1st and Broad St to the coffee bar.

For those who feel they won't be able to walk the 5 blocks they can go ahead to the coffee bar to wait for the meeting and can see the march outside the bar.

In case of the the event having less than favorable rain conditions we will meet directly at the coffee bar and will have a rally there.

Afterwards there will be an informational meeting specifically for those who want to become more involved in the community with LGBTQ activities. Also giving them the information on who personally represents them at the local and state level government.
It will be at the coffee bar.

After the meeting try to not move in less than groups of three back to your cars. There will be escorts to walk with you back to your car if you so chose.

Tut ho**ah lounge will be hosting the pride party which starts at 5:00 p.m. and ends at 2:00 a.m.

For those who end up parting a little too hard but still want to be a part of the march Sunday Big Chief and The coffee bar will be open. Big Chief has brunch with mimosas to cover your food needs while the Coffee Bar has the drinks and pastries to perk you up.

A part of pride is celebration of your humanity and building communities of love/ kindness.

And such I do want everyone to be well aware that also on Sunday there is a community cleanup for those who still have a little bit of energy left and want to help the community.
As it is not only our duty to love one another but to protect and cherish our community.
