A little history and wild to me that 25 years ago today Leroy Djss Small was here in Gainesville, in the same building that we shall celebrate this music tonight. Fast forward to now and here we are. Feels so amazing to be here amongst legends.

Hard to believe this will be the 15th Renegade SOUND!
Looking forward to this and all the layers of collaboration. The legend himself Derrick Empirex is headlining, Brian Bellas and myself will be going B2B, Jasper Mendez makes his debut and of course Cedric with bangers for days…
Winston Kalmbach so lyrically talented on the mic and has been vibing to dnb lately. He expressed interest in spitting some fire…over fire so I said let’s do it!
Incredible artist Melissa West will be painting live and the dopest VJ I know Jacob Case will be there, both to create aesthetic magic for everyone’s viewing pleasure.

In 2004, Bladerunner's talents were spotted by Ray Keith. He was signed to Dread Recordings and remixed jungle classics Renegade Terrorist, The Chopper and Dark Soldier.
Bladerunner’s new school, forward thinking take on the classic jungle sound has won him legions of fans from heads to producers alike with tracks such as Back To The Jungle, Feel For You, Sound Control by Randall and Andy C and his massive rework of DJ SS’s classic Black. Including regular airplay on BBC Radio 1, 1 Xtra and appearances on Kiss100 and D&B Arena TV, Bladerunner has featured in Knowledge magazine and ATM with cover mixed CD's. Recent hits Snake Fist and Back to the Jungle also topped the BBC Radio 1 Drum & Bass charts.

Lil’ story time: So last year I began teaching miss Alix Albert aka Lilithandra how to mix. She picked it up quickly compared to most…she is also learning there are LEVELS to it but she is determined and I respect that. Also bad ass for choosing to mix dnb off the rip and stepping right up! She loves and supports dnb lots. She used to post my mixes and tag me before I even met her. So I made a point to introduce myself 2 years ago. I realized then that I had some solid support who love this music too, to at least try and do something here. Not easy being the new kid…Since then she has confessed she was over the moon that dnb had made a resurgence in GVL and that I had arrived here. Full circle moments. She has been to every Renegade show since the start.
I’m SO happy for her, tonight is her first time playing live!! It’s been cool having a wee grasshopper…tonight she is going for it! Moral of long story long- empowering ladies and/or gentlemen is a such great feeling. Highly recommend. Lift each other up! I’ve presented her with as much knowledge as she can store, as that has been done for me over the years. Never understood gate keeping bc we all grow older and things change. It’s about the music and keeping it moving forward. Forever. I’ve found an amazing, very supportive squad here, super blessed.

I’ve enjoyed bringing so many talented artists to Gainesville over the past ten months and have pushed this night to promote the genre of Drum & Bass first and foremost. I strive to present this night in a fun, colorful, inviting way. I’ve barely played a full hour set in all the months so I thought maybe it’s time.
