David Lindley was a part of the early years of Reggae on the River. He & his band El Rayo X performed '86, '87, '88 and came back for the 20 year anniversary in 2003.

We are deeply sorry to announce that Cecil "Skelly" Spence is gone to rest.

In the last few months he was doing therapy on his right hand and shoulder due to arthritis. Last week he was not feeling well and went to the hospital in New York where he just discovered he had an aggressive cancer with no possibility of treatment.

He asked to send his love to all his fans. That was one of his last words. Please say a prayer to him.

Rest in Peace, Skelly. We will miss you. ❤️😞

"Rebelution bassist Marley D Williams‘ reggae destiny was set before he made his debut from the womb.

The Northern California native’s “hippy” parents named him after the Jamaican reggae legend Bob Marley and exposed him to the genre, playing reggae music around the family’s off-the-grid house — they had no electricity or running water in their home, which his father built on a large swath of forest land.

His parents also took him to the annual Reggae on the River Festival in nearby Humboldt County, where he would see California reggae bands alongside bands from Jamaica.

'Yeah, I didn’t have a choice. Reggae was a part of me,' joked the bass player and founder of SoCal reggae band 'And I’m glad I didn’t have a choice. Thanks mom. Thanks dad.'”

Rebelution is bringing music "with a good message and a good groove" to Tucson's AVA at Casino del Sol.

The hand painted Unity backdrop in red gold and green is the original from French’s camp and Carol Bruno & People Productions - Thanks for making us a reggae family in Humboldt. Carol’s great idea to have a REGGAE music fundraiser to help rebuild the Mateel still symbolizes love and unity - over four decades later & Stands the test of time!
