As we start to say goodnight to the IP Mill—a cornerstone of Georgetown’s identity for decades—we feel the weight of a huge loss to our community. This closure affects countless families —and our community who relied on the mill for stability and support. Our thoughts and prayers are with you. It’s a sad moment as we move past this era, and our thoughts are with the employees and their families as they look to the future and new opportunities. We honor the legacy of the generations who built their lives and our town around IP, and we stand together in hope🤍🇺🇸

🚧 Just a quick update for our community: the Kaminski House’s beautiful waterfront area and the lawn near the water will be closed for the next couple of weeks as we take steps to preserve our iconic bluff and protect it from erosion. 🌊 Thank you for your understanding and support as we work to maintain and safeguard the natural beauty of our historic waterfront! We are still open for house tours during this time! 💙 ”

The 2024 annual fireworks display over Georgetown will take place July 4 at about 9:30 p.m. Directed by the Georgetown City Fire Department, fireworks will be set off at Morgan Park and can be seen from Harborwalk and other areas on the water. Morgan Park, parts of Greenwich Drive and East Bay Street leading up to Morgan Park will be closed Wednesday, July 3. Signs will be posted when this is in effect. Morgan Park will remain closed until the morning of July 5 and signs will remain in place until it is reopened. Please DO NOT cross over or through the barricades once they are placed and these areas are closed off to the public! Please do not park blocking the streets as emergency vehicles may have to utilize them to respond to emergencies. Spectators are encouraged to park in the parking lot at East Bay Park and throw a blanket or chair in the grass to enjoy the show. Please do not park on the grass and follow parking rules on any posted signs. This year the fireworks display will be coordinated with music provided by Georgetown City Fire Department, WGEO-105.7 FM. We would like to thank Munnerlyn Pyrotechnics for assisting us in the safe and beautiful display of the fireworks show!
