What an incredible experience it was to have the Simmons family from Chicago stay with us at Queenslake B&B, featured in Episode 1 of 's new 6-part video series, 'Fireside Fortune.' Witnessing this wonderful family's first encounter with Kentucky was truly a highlight for us. We were thrilled to showcase the unique charm of Queenslake B&B and observe their genuine reactions to each new discovery. Congratulations to the Amen House on hosting yet another successful fundraiser at Queenslake Horse Farm in Georgetown, Kentucky. A remarkable 185 individuals joined in for the Denim and Pearls themed event, enjoying a sumptuous meal catered by DaRae & Friends, and were serenaded by the live tunes of Rock Steady.

Each year, the Amen House organizes a fundraiser complemented by a silent auction to meet their annual objectives. This year's mission was to ensure every child in the community has access to whole foods like apples and milk. Their initial aim was to gather $16,000 for the cause. Astonishingly, even before counting the silent auction's contributions, our community's magnanimous individuals donated an impressive sum of over $44,000 in support. Michelle Carlysle, the executive Director of the Amen House was left speechless.

While many perceive Amen House to be well-funded, like most charities, they face financial challenges. Though they recently received a substantial grant to procure a larger facility for their operations, it's crucial to understand that such grants are often earmarked for specific purposes. The acquisition of a bigger space, coupled with the logistics of relocating, means Amen House is in more need of funds than ever before.

We at Queenslake are profoundly thankful to the community for once again choosing our farm as the venue for such a pivotal event. Our gratitude extends to everyone who went above and beyond, tripling the fundraising goal for the night. We urge everyone to continue supporting the Amen House. Their relentless efforts to combat hunger in our community are truly invaluable.

Queenslake is thankful to Governor Andy Beshear for lifting the mask mandate for outdoor events with less than 1,000 people. We will be hosting a "THANK YOU GOV. BESHEAR BBQ" at Queenslake on Friday April 30, 2021 3-6pm to take advantage of the new policy; to welcome friends and neighbors to open the season; and to say thank you to the Governor for bravely leading us through the pandemic and getting Kentuckians to this point where we can begin to migrate back to normalcy. The Governor has been invited to this event. We are awaiting his response.
