Juneteenth, Freedom Day or Jubilee Day: No matter what you call it, it marks the day in June 1865 when Major General Gordon Granger and a unit of Union soldiers arrived in Galveston, Texas, to announce that all enslaved people were free.

In honor of the holiday, June 19, 2024, day-use fees will be waived at both Turkey Bay and Wrangler's Campground.
