We are going old school once again at next years race! We are having a fan favorite, “greasy triple” class at next years races.

Why? Because who doesn’t like the sound of triple’s racing across a frozen lake?

Here are the rules:
600 CC max engine displacement
2002 and older sleds
Run what you brung, modified sleds are allowed
All racers and sleds must comply with ISR safety rules and riders myst sign up through ISR.
Entry fee will be $150.00
Class will race both days
R rated tracks are not required, although a new track is highly recommended since some of you might be in the 120 MPH range.
Race format will depend on how many entries we get

Likely have a $3,000.00 purse for this class

Thinking about adding a class to next years races. Like this post if you think we should add a “greasy triple” class. Bring back the old XLT’s and ZRT’s etc. Might have a full mod class and a stock class. There’s nothing like the sound of a triple singing across a frozen lake 👌🏻

Now that we have finally wound down from the weekend, here are the highlights:

The ambulance wasn’t needed at all, all weekend

We had a record, 185 entries

A record $73,000.00 race purse

Record amount of sponsorship money

The races were all done within just over six hours and ten minutes both days

We had the best race track we have EVER had. It was wide, flowed well and produced many lead changing races!

For the first time ever, two brothers (Taylor and Boe Bunke) won both Pro classes

Taylor Bunke is one of very few to be a multi time winner of the Gerald Dyrdahl Memorial - Pine Lake 200

Boe Bunke won a record $10,000.00 in Pro Mod, and Taylor Bunke won $12,000.00 in Pro Stock

We had a rookie crew in the Schuster auctioneering scoring trailer, and they figured things out in no time and continued to improve throughout the weekend.

The old USXC crew ran things like clockwork, like they always have in the past.

The guys marking and sweeping the track braved the cold like the old pros they are all weekend

Lots of smiles under the facemasks, and a lot of “thank you’s” from countless racers and race fans.

The flag man was flawless

The spotters said they saw some of the best racing ever out on the lake, and they have been spotting for many years

Roth RV supplying two fish houses made things bearable for track workers

The behind the scenes people such as Kyrsten Zimpel, Sharon Dyrdahl O’Bryan, Jenna Carda, Ashley Kurkowski and Trudy Erickson, we thank you all for what you did throughout the week and weekend

Larry Skala and Brian Nelson plowed and maintained a beautiful race track from Thursday-Sunday.

Rory Haugen tore down the winners and kept them in check

Scott Schuster and Andy Mack, well they rocked it all weekend of course. Handling 185 entries can be like herding cats in staging, and they certainly did just that

Ticket takers said everyone sure was happy to go racing, and so were we

For as brutally cold, and as bad as the snowdust was, we had a race track that was smooth, fast, wide, and we were able to go heads up racing the entire weekend

The Dyrdahl family, and everyone involved over this race weekend would like to thank our amazing sponsors, all of our workers, the racers and the race fans for an absolutely amazing and very successful weekend!

We have likely forgot to thank many people, but just know that we sure appreciate all of your support!

Some said it was a bad idea to become an independent snowmobile race, but we think we have proved the naysayers wrong. When you surround yourself with the right people, good things can happen.

This race was a total team effort, and it showed.

We learned a lot this weekend, and we will continue to learn. We are already planning for next year, and we are looking forward to it already!

Congrats to Taylor Bunke Racing on his 1st place finish in Pro Stock 600. Dan got shuffled back to 8th at one point but battled back and finished in 3rd. Gunner Arlaud Racing finished second.

Wanna know why Carver Performance has a race team? Here are reasons #1, #2, and #3!! All of the racers had a great weekend at Pine Lake! And thanks to the Gerald Dyrdahl Memorial Race, each racer took at least 1 check home (Brady took home 2!) But most of all, we race just to see those smiles!!

Brady took 1st in Sport Improved and 4th in Sport Stock. Absolutely phenomenal weekend for him! Brady is athletic, crazy fast, and has the best attitude.

Keagen took 2nd in Semi Pro Improved. Unfortunately, in the Semi Pro Stock, Keagen had a steering part failure. During that race, Keagen was battling hard with Brandon Wolter. They were passing each other several times, each lap, making that a really fun race! Keagen proved himself to be not only a fast rider but also a smart racer.

Mike took 3rd in the Master's 50+ class. Mike says he is retiring, but then tells me he has to race so he can help do testing....

Please share to help spread the word. With this forecast, we are tentatively moving our race date to January 6th and 7th. At this point, we aren’t even sure if we will have enough ice by then. We will keep you posted on our upcoming decision, likely have more information on January 1st.

Even though we are moving the race date, we still have to have the raffle drawing next Sunday night. We would appreciate your support and buy the raffle tickets, it is a huge fundraiser for us, and we have some great prizes!

We are aware of the UTV and fish house that fell through today. Reports are that the pressure ridge was 2’ high yesterday and it was about 6” high today, and that is where the incident happened. There is 10” of ice on each side of the pressure ridge.

Current ice depth at start/finish line area is just over 10”. We are closely monitoring the forecast and will make a decision if we will be a go or not on Saturday afternoon, 12-23. Let’s hope for a cold snap so we can go racing!
