We’re so thankful for the opportunity to share our love of food with all of you. As you prepare your Thanksgiving Feast, let’s talk turkey—and go over some important turkey cooking safety tips to keep your meal both delicious and safe.
Turkey Safety 101:
Thaw Safely: If you’re working with a frozen turkey, make sure it’s completely thawed. Allow about 24-72 hours of thawing in the fridge depending on weight. Never thaw your turkey on the counter!
Brine with Care: Keep your turkey and brine refrigerated the entire time to avoid bacterial growth.
Cook to Temperature: Use a meat thermometer to check the internal temperature. The thickest part of the breast and thigh should reach 165°F before serving.
Avoid Cross-Contamination: Wash your hands, surfaces, and utensils thoroughly after handling raw turkey.
Rest Before Carving: Let your turkey rest for at least 20 minutes after cooking. This locks in juices and makes carving easier.
Have a safe, flavorful, and Happy Thanksgiving from Feast! 🦃
