Some highlights from Ashley and Bryce's wedding out at from early September. This was me working alone, no second photographer or assistant, carrying equipment up to the side of the mountain and setting up all in time to still get all the great shots. I planned the day with them and helped them stay on task all throughout the day. This is how I do it almost all the time and it helps the couple save a bit on their service. Yes I do offer 2nd photographers and while they are awesome, I still make sure I get everything and plan as if I am still the only one there. I have been doing it this way for the last 15 years. Everything I post online and on my website is directly from me. I do not use any 2nd shooters photos to promote my website. I want the client to know that any photos they see are from me, my eye, and my style.

I've been blessed to see a wide variety of venue spaces across this great state of NC. It's always so fun visiting something new or seeing things you always wanted to see. I love the creativity that comes from each wedding and what these places mean to the couples and their families. I love to implement these into their images so they can always remember where and what it looked like. Maybe even what it felt like to be there. That is how powerful an image can be.

A few more from Kayla and Neals wedding out at . This was one of the most perfect settings for a wedding and especially at this time of year. The fall leaves and weather really enhanced the already perfect venue. The ceremony area was in a secluded area and surrounded by nature while the main creek flowed directly beside it. Such a great day.

How about a bridal session with a horse? Marisa had scheduled a horse and carriage ride for her and her groom at the end of the day. After the ride we set aside some time to get some unique bridal shots of them together. This little slice of time created memorable moments that she will cherish forever. Now booking for 2025 weddings :)

With Thanksgiving just around the corner, I thought it would be fun to show off some of the different desserts that I see at weddings. It's not always the traditional cake that is served and many people like the idea of mixing things up a bit for their guests. From candy stations to a variety of mini pies and cookies, I have seen a lot of fun and different things over the years. What are some of the fun desserts that you have seen or would like to see?

A great send off doesn't have to be sparklers. I get asked a lot about this and while sparklers are the most popular, I always say that it doesn't matter what you use or you don't even have to use anything! What matters most is that your friends and family are there celebrating with you and cheering for you as you start your new life together! Over the years I have seen not only sparklers but party streamers, flower pedals, bubbles, glow sticks, rice, seeds, potpourri, led light wands, light sabers, swords, paper airplanes thrown, and even nothing but the guests holding their arms up to make a tunnel to run through or just clapping and cheering. There is always something new coming out and I say just make it fun and easy :) Congrats to Lauren and Wyatt!
