Greenville Music Legend Robert Eugene “Moss” Mack was honored at the second annual Greenville Jazz Fest with a Mayoral Proclamation presented by Councilmember Ken Gibson.
The late Miss has played The Peace Center with such acts as Aretha Franklin, Natalie Cole, The Four Tops and Dionne Warwick. His favorite musicians include John Coltrane, Charlie Parker, Miles Davis, Joe Henderson, McCoy Tyner and Max Roach and says his own style of play has been most influenced by Coltrane, Cannonball Adderley and Harold Land.
Locally, Moss played with his best friend Sonny Thornton for many years in Greenville, SC who accepted the proclamation on his behalf.
