She was able to pick up her garland and even reworked it to her needs when her backdrop changed. She was supplied with the materials and know-how needed to set up and she’s a crafty girl so I gave her some starbursts to throw in too. Everything fit in her already packed SUV and she was on her way.

Some balloon reality coming atcha 😬

“They’re just balloons”
-They are expensive balloons

“I’m just gonna pop them anyway”
-You’re just gonna eat that expensive cake too

“I can buy them from Amazon for cheaper”
-ZERO comparison to a professional job

“You’re expensive”
-I barely profit

I’m gonna walk you through a checkout for balloons real quick. This video is my cart of the bare minimum of what I buy for each install. 1 bag of each size I use in all 3 colors. $141

Now I’m gonna walk you through an invoice of mine for an 8’ garland. (See pic in comments) I charge $20/ft which comes out to $160+ tax. This is a $19 payment to me for the hours I’m putting in contacting you, creating your piece in my head and blowing up your balloons and creating your garland. I’m going to charge you a delivery and install fee because gas isn’t cheap, and I’m going to be spending more time and money installing these balloons at your event. At this moment and time I charge a $50 flat fee and not a percentage like many people locally. Your total is now $224 that you are allowed to pay in 2 payments.

So it seems I am going to make $69 on this one balloon install. Let’s subtract gas there and back, mounting hardware, equipment I used for your install, the program I pay for monthly for invoicing and I’m really not profiting all that much.

When I see people charging $15/ft or LESS my mind is blown. I don’t see how they’re doing it. I
When people tell me “it’s just balloons” it may just be balloons to you, but you’re paying for a service, balloons included. And they’re expensive. We as balloon artists take time out of our day to plan your color pallet, and blow up your balloons and design something we think you’ll love. We take the time away from our families and friends to do so and to install for you at your parties.

We love what we do, and that’s why we do it.
There is a latex shortage, a helium shortage, and finding balloon colors is hard sometimes. We pay $30 in shipping easily trying to find colors all over.

All this to say, balloons aren’t cheap. We are pricing our best to make minimal profit. We understand if you can’t spend this kind of money on balloons but we are willing to work with you to try and meet your budget and still give you something you love. Please reach out if an invoice is too high for you. We want to make your party special and give you something beautiful that you’ll remember every time you think of your event.
