Thursday night I had the honor of going to and learning a little about the important work they do and presenting the with a donation on behalf of , who competed on their behalf, and by winning the audience choice award at the battle, this non-profit, who had the Wood River Softball Team there on Wednesday to help them heal, won too.
Community, Charity, Music is what it’s all about.

Tonight we got to present the big check (and one the bank will actually take) to on behalf of Up A Creek, who won the Judges Panel award at the battle, by scoring the most points. Congrats fellas! Can’t wait until you cash in your prize and get in the recording studio! 🎙️🎧🎸

“One of the highlights of this fall was a new event, 5B Battle of the Bands. We’ve always supported live music in the Wood River Valley, from Ketch’em Alive, concerts at River Run (and formerly Trail Creek), Back Alley Parties, and the now defunct but long-running Northern Rockies Folk Festival, Hailey Nights of Music, to Jazz in the Park, live music in various parks and bars (remember the Creekside!) and the weekly Hailey Rocks shows. Battle of the Bands reminded me of all those events. Familiar and unknowns - to me - bands took the stage at the Liberty, performing for an enthusiastic crowd. Audience participation was loud and proud. Enlivened and enriched, I walked home on that chilly night under a full moon, thanking my lucky stars.”
