Meet Noel! This year’s fully loaded Christmas wreath and we are smitten!

Noel is one of FOUR wreaths we are creating this year (the one with ALL the goods… and all the drama) and we can’t wait to share each one of them with you!

P.S. I, like many of you, hate that Christmas is a thought in October! But last year, shipping delays caused orders to not arrive until a week before Christmas and this year I am fighting that with everything in me, because I want you to get your orders ASAP!!!

Friends, I know this heat wave we are getting makes FALL seem like forever away, but it is ALMOST here… like September will be here in 19 days…

If you want Spring flowers (think ranunculus, tulips, peonies, daffodils, anemones… swipe for all the examples) then you plant them in the FALL! Which means, you order them NOW! Like today from !

Today at 10am, one of my favorite local gardeners, Laura from is opening the FALL BULB sale to the public! I was lucky enough to get early access last night and got so many goodies (seriously, don’t let Emory look at the receipt) that I can’t wait to see bloom come March/April! My absolute favorite treasure I snagged?! The La Belle Époque tulip (swipe to see this stunner) which I have been trying to get for 2 years!!! I also got 7 different types of ranunculus (seriously addicted to them), 2 new types of daffodils to my garden, 2 new peonies (I couldn’t resist), and 8 varieties of double tulips… this year tulips stole my heart and they are SOOOO EASY TO GROW!!!

Basically, I would implore you to go visit their sale (LINK IN BIO) and pick at least ONE fall bulb to plant! I promise in early Spring 2022 you will thank me!

This past weekend I had the opportunity to work with as a freelance floral designer at and the wedding design by was magical. Patterns and shades of blue with the soft florals made it classically romantic with a twist of elegant southern charm! Literally had me 😍😍😍 from start to finish!

Also, I LOVE textured and patterned linens done right! I’d love to hear what you think!

Friends, I have struggled with perfectionism my entire life and my counselor recently asked “where does that come from?” I came to the conclusion that honestly, for the first 25 years of my life, although I wasn’t perfect by any means... I was pretty darn successful at 99% of what I tried. But life has a way of humbling you, when no matter how much you “try” you can’t keep all the balls in the air (heck sometimes it feels like you can’t play catch with Velcro gloves).

I have learned a lot of life lessons in the garden and one of them is to surrender perfectionism. As an organic gardener, bugs come... some good ones that help your garden and make you happy, and some that destroy all your beautiful blooms and make you want to wage chemical war on them (which you resist the urge to do because you care about the earth and pollinators). Like I shared a few weeks ago, sometimes you can do everything right and things still just don’t grow the way you hope they will. Sometimes you overwater and sometimes your plants look a little too thirsty because you have been struggling to even remember how many days it’s been since you washed your hair.

Perfection is not meant for the garden and it isn’t meant for the human soul either. Our pursuit of it... and even the “attainment”of it at times... can be our enemy, steal our joy, and lead us to anxious and hopeless places. Today I am processing how to give grace to myself the way I give it to other people, flowers, and definitely the dogs! The way Christ gives, which is the most perfect example of grace.

A next VGC couple that is getting married in an intimate ceremony on a very patriotic weekend in July 🇺🇸 From the moment Jennifer’s email landed in my inbox, my heart burst with the desire to flower their special day in beauty and honor of some cherished loved ones they have lost. I cannot wait to see these two celebrate their love in a way that is so personal and meaningful.

I definitely have a more cozy minimalist style and am VERY particular about what actually gets a hole in my wall, but this beauty is definitely deserving! I love the clean and simple lines of the frames and the earthy tones of the image!

, , and I all met up last night to bundle the peonies! We ate pizza, listened to Taylor Swift, sassily rebuttalled each other, and talked in 90% TikTok audios.

Playing with flowers is therapeutic. Playing with flowers with friends is just fun! We are blessed by these two beautiful ladies in our home, life, and business! So abundantly blessed!

By the way, we made a few small bundles of peonies that you can buy TODAY or Saturday at either in Staunton or in Harrisonburg!!! Enjoy!!!

Don’t mind us! We are just collecting the season’s final peonies from for our subscription bouquets for tomorrow! I love getting to get ALL the peonies from the Harmony Harvest ladies! Their hard work and 1500 peony bushes basically make my dreams come true!

Allergies anyone? Y’all know I love my flowers! The lilacs, peonies, roses, and everything else that is blooming right now, but friends, my allergies are hitting HARD this year and allergy meds aren’t cutting it!

I would love any remedies for allergies that work quickly please (extra points for holistic remedies)! I’d love to be able to breath through my nose again and have my eyes not feel so swollen! Lol!

VGC Schoolhouse is in session! 😂 Yesterday we were able to do something a little out of the box of our norm, and we had the BEST time! Our friend’s kiddos are studying Economics in school and they asked to visit us for a small business economics lesson! Emory and I were so excited, because we genuinely enjoy this stuff! We talked to them about the excitement and reality of running a small business! We walked around the garden, talked about taxes, profit, and supply and demand! M&Ms were our currency, and they each had a different role to play in the flower industry! It was so great to play pretend with them and have them see the ripple effects of their business choices to the next person in the industry chain! At the end, their mom had them tell us one thing they learned, and my heart was just so full to hear the small takeaways they gained!

Just something new we wanted to share with y’all, because we had the best time!

These beauties are headed into the hands of their beauties today!

Truly, this is my favorite subscription bouquet so far because... well... PEONIES (which y’all know are my absolute favorite!)

Also, we have SIX small bundle “grab-n-go” bouquets, with peonies at today and tomorrow for $18-$24 each! I would encourage to get there quickly if you want to snag one... or 5!

Friends, we are so excited to officially introduce the truly amazing Elizabeth Payne (aka ) to the Valley Garden Co. team as our first Production Assistant! Elizabeth and I have been friends for years, and there aren’t enough words to express how grateful I am for her presence in my life as a friend, and now, a team member! If I’m being honest, I pegged Elizabeth and her gifts a long time ago as someone that I would want by my side on this journey, and the value she has already brought is immense! Already Elizabeth has organized and created an spreadsheet of our inventory, made the subscription process go so much smoother (and more fun if I’m being honest) and was the MVP at our most recent wedding! I can’t say enough amazing things about this lady, but please get excited to see her more and more on here!

Friends, I truly LOVE wedding weekends, and even though my eyelids are heavy this morning and feet still hurt a bit, I am still on cloud 9 from the small and colorful wedding we did this weekend! Friends, have you ever smelled a garden rose? Not one from the grocery store that has been bred in a way that strips it of its fragrance... that smells generic. I’m talking about a garden rose?! I remember the first time I smelled one (it was Desdemona from my garden) and was stunned at the elegance of the smell. I truly fell in love at that moment and it has become a treasured experience I seek!

Today my office is filled with all the garden rose and I may have to put an OOTO email up just so I can smell them all day!

Mother’s Day carries so many different feelings for so many hearts.
💛For the friend that has lost a mother, my heart breaks with you.
💛For the ladies that long to have a baby of their own in their arms, I see you and am praying for your prayers to be answered.
💛For the mommas that have experienced the unbearable pain of loss of a child at any stage of pregnancy or life, my arms long to hug you and share in the memory of your babies life. You are a mother and today I am praying for you!
💛For the mommas that are spending today surrounded by their babies, my heart rejoices in blessing of their lives and your motherhood! I hope you feel loved and gratitude that may not be experienced in the day-to-day. Your work as mother is hard and so vastly important, so I celebrate you today!

Here is what Sophie said herself about this beauty: “A dogwood arch is really a unicorn in our world. For just about 1 week each year the dogwood trees bloom and we can never really be sure which week its going to be. The stars aligned this time around and it was a dream to work with and the sweetest couple S+S this weekend. They made rain look fun and beautiful!”

It’s and this lady is too beautiful to not have a permanent spot on out page! This double tulip is named Dream Touch and I think we can all see why (I mean I dream of blooms like these, don’t you?!). She is bold, with soft white tips, and blooms the size of my hand! As this peony lookalike opens up, she becomes more and more purple and it feels like you are getting a brand new flower. I ordered her from last year, and seriously can’t recommend her enough!
