Matriarch Modern Moms is an event company and mama community. We create and produce virtual and in-person special events designed with mamas in mind.
We are also an inclusive community bringing together mamas so they can connect and be supported. Our goal is to help mamas to rediscover the women they always were, and still are by giving them permission to have fun and invest much needed time in themselves. * BRB… CRYING *
This morning, I went to wake the girls to get them ready for school…but they were already awake. In fact, they were dressed and downstairs sweeping the floors and setting the table for breakfast.
I ran downstairs to give them hugs and they greeted me with this handmade card. The inside made me choke back tears. I don’t always feel like I’m doing the best job as a mom, but moments like these prove otherwise.
Our littles are always listening, watching and learning. They see us. We need to be better about seeing ourselves. Thank you Noë and Naomi for being the best little teachers. This mama is so grateful for you. 🙏🏾🩷
✨ HOW ITS GOING… ✨
Hey mamas! It’s been a month since I went back to work full time. I feel blessed to have landed my dream job. While it’s been an exciting and liberating experience, it’s also been an adjustment.
What I’ve Learned:
✨ I need to get comfortable with things not being perfect. There may be dishes in the sink and laundry to be done. Dinner may be sandwiches from time to time. I may forget about the special color themed dress up day at school. And you know what? It’s OK.
✨ I miss my family more. I find myself really cherishing my time with my kids and wife more now that my schedule has become busier. Weekends are especially precious.
✨ I need to be my own biggest fan. I almost didn’t apply for this opportunity because I questioned if I could still do it. But with each day that passes, I feel more and more confident in my talent.
✨ Self care has never been more important. I wake up early to exercise, drink lots of water and eat lots of snacks. I have to take care of myself and keep my energy up to be successful.
Overall, it’s going great! This mama is thriving. I miss the online mama community, but I look forward to our next Mama Meet Up where I can see my beautiful CT mamas in person.

✨ SPA DAY EVENT UPDATE - DATE CHANGE ✨
The Mamas 🩷 A Spa Day is being moved to due to spa facility renovations taking place at the venue. Because I want to ensure our mamas get the level of relaxation and pampering they deserve, I have decided to move our event to an alternate date after those renovations are complete.
The new date for the spa day will be Sunday, May 19. Link to purchase tickets available in bio. I look forward to a day of relaxation in a newly beautified space!
✨IT’S THE LITTLE THINGS ✨
Every day, getting out of the door is a struggle. I don’t quite understand why. It’s the same routine to prep for school every morning, and yet somehow, each day comes and we are frantically trying to get out of the door.
One morning recently, I expressed frustration about this. In my rushing, I forgot something in the house. The girls continued to the car in the garage while I ran back in. When I came back out, I was amazed at what I saw: big sister was trying to help by getting little sister in her car seat. 🥹🥰 They heard my frustration and tried to help.
In that moment I took a deep breath, smiled and said “thank you”. Because like all mamas, I have days that are really tough. But once in a while there are the little moments which serve as reminders that we are doing great.
So if you haven’t heard it in a while mama, YOU are doing great. This work is hard. What you do and say matters in the long run. And despite the morning struggles, you will still get to the end goal. The girls made it to school, and I made an important realization - we are ok. ✨

🍪 GIRL SCOUT COOKIE SEASON 🍪
My daughter joined the Girl Scouts a few months ago, and is going into her first cookie season. Before now, she knew she liked the cookies. But after becoming a Girl Scout herself, she now is beginning to understand fundraising and how her cookie sales can earn rewards for her troop and herself. As a mom, I am excited about this introduction to leadership and entrepreneurship. There’s nothing like seeing a group of little girls getting excited about how they can create something positive. I’m one proud cookie mama. ✨

I recently found this beautiful puzzle at . It features beautifully animated children of all colors and helps us have the conversation about celebrating diversity with our kids. Happy 2024 Mamas! I’m not big into New Year’s Resolutions, but the planner in me loves this new beginning as another opportunity to set some goals. As mothers, we are always thinking ahead when it comes to our kids…but what about ourselves?

This has been an aggressive holiday season. I enjoyed a beautiful December filled with family and friends. Today I’m enjoying a spa day with my love. Grateful now for the gift of silence and relaxation. ✨🥰
A few years ago, I started asking my wife for a spa giftcard or treatment as a gift - for my birthday, Valentines Day, our anniversary, Mothers Day…you name it. Because at the end of the day, it forces me to set aside time for ME. And after such a busy, stressful time of year, I’m thankful for these moments of quiet. It’s more valuable than any physical gift could be.

💚 EASY GRINCH CRAFT 💚
Let’s face it - everyone loves the Grinch. We can all relate to the joy of the holiday season, but also embrace the grouchy nature that sometimes comes with it. Here’s a fun and easy holiday craft for your little ones celebrating everything “grinch”.
What You Need:
💚 Paper plate
💚 Green paint (crayons also work)
💚 Red felt (or construction paper)
💚 Yellow construction paper
💚 Cotton balls
💚 Glue
💚 Black marker
Paint the paper plate or color it green. Let it dry. Cut out yellow ovals and glue to the plate. Draw black dots to look like eyes. Glue red felt triangle to top of plate. Glue cotton balls along the bottom and also add one to the top. Finish with drawing the nose and mouth. That’s it! *cue grinch theme*

🎄 ADVENT ALTERNATIVES 🎄
Hey Mamas - December is upon us. The decorations are up. The Elf is on the Shelf. And the holiday season is in full swing. A typical tradition is the advent calendar - a countdown to Christmas. Most advent calendars feature a little piece of chocolate or some other sweet goodie. Our girls definitely don’t need more sugar, so we went on the hunt for an advent alternative.
I found this super cute charm bracelet calendar on Amazon. They get two bracelets and each day get to unlock a charm. By Christmas Day, the girls will each have a bracelet to wear that they helped to build themselves. 🩷

Happy Thanksgiving Mamas! This is my favorite holiday of all. Yes it’s a day to stuff ourselves with food, watch the parade and enjoy time with family. But it’s also a day dedicated to gratitude.
I’m so grateful for the mama community. The way we lift each other up, help each other and have each other’s backs. Thank you mamas for supporting . Mamas Get Merry is SOLD OUT! And the last two events were as well. I’m just so grateful. 🙏🏾 I’m thankful for you today and every day.

✨GRATITUDE IS NOT JUST FOR GROWN UPS ✨
You’re never too young to start teaching your kids gratitude. Every night at the dinner table we talk about what we are grateful for. Every fall, we have a gratitude pumpkin upon which we write things we are grateful for. I also keep a gratitude journal on my nightstand.
This week in my daughter’s school, they introduced the concept of a gratitude journal. 📓✏️🩷 My daughter wrote down things she is grateful for inside. She was thrilled to come home and show me.
To make a gratitude journal for your child, simply staple together several sheets of colored paper. Let them design a cover to make it feel special. Then, they can write or draw something they are grateful for each day.
✨ MAMAS NIGHT OUT ✨
Last night, I had the pleasure of having dinner with several new mama friends. All of our kids go to school together. We would see each other in passing, and finally decided it would be great to get to know each other. So glad we did! What I learned is that each one of these beautiful ladies is inspiring, strong, driven and passionate about motherhood AND about being their best selves. I’m grateful that our kids get along…but even more grateful that I can now call them all friends. Ain’t no tribe like the mama tribe. 🩷
🩷 OH GIRLS JUST WANNA HAVE FUN 🩷
Our girls are big fans of the Trolls movies, so when I heard that our local was holding a Trolls themed baking class, I knew we had to be a part of it. The girls worked together to make, bake, frost and decorate cupcakes from scratch. They even made a Trolls craft to bring home. By the end, the girls were begging to do more cooking classes…together. It was a proud mama moment for sure.

Hey Mama, you survived Halloween! Finding the costume, driving kids from this party to that one, putting together goodie bags for your kids’ classes, and walking all over your neighborhood. Exhaustion is thy name.
But you did it! 🎉 Yesterday was all about the littles. Now it’s time to treat YOURSELF. Do something that feels good today. Order the large latte. Take yourself to breakfast. Book a massage. ✨THE POWER OF MANIFESTATION ✨ Last night, I met one of the people I am most inspired by @tune2tunde. I don’t know her personally, but I know the way she makes me feel when I hop on my @onepeloton bike - strong, resilient and healthy. And although I wasn’t sure how, I knew that one day I would meet her. I manifested it. It’s so appropriate that the first book for the Mamas That Read book club is one about manifestation - The Alchemist. I am a firm believer in manifesting positive things in my life. I first read The Alchemist 13 years ago when some things were shifting in my life. I learned how the Universe would rise up to meet me and shift to help things happen for me. Everything I have…my marriage, my kids, this mama community, my career…I believe God sent to me by way of the Universe. Today we kick off the month of February with this amazing book. It’s not too late to join us in reading this powerful piece of literature. 🩷 BY YOUR SIDE 💜 Our girls are inseparable. At a recent birthday party, they could be often seen doing things together… like in this moment. When we thought about having a second child, these are the moments we pictured. In church this week, the pastor talked about the importance of finding your person and finding your people. Not only did our girls hear this message, they live it everyday. As a mom, I find comfort in the fact that they will always find community in the people that love them. It’s never too early to start teaching our little ones about chores and the value of contributing to the home. In our house, we have started giving our girls small tasks. And while they are only 2 and 4 years old, we feel good about empowering them in this way.
