Matriarch Modern Moms is an event company and mama community. We create and produce virtual and in-person special events designed with mamas in mind.

We are also an inclusive community bringing together mamas so they can connect and be supported. Our goal is to help mamas to rediscover the women they always were, and still are by giving them permission to have fun and invest much needed time in themselves. We are all about dedicated time away from the kids and getting some “me time” in. Join our community today and:

HAPPY NEW YEAR MAMAS 🎉

Another year, another chapter, another opportunity to become our best selves. Sometimes we get so caught up mothering everyone else that we forget to mother ourselves. It’s time to move past that in 2025.

Today I cast my vote 🗳️ for our upcoming presidential election. As a woman of color, and mother to two little girls, I want to make sure we have the rights we deserve. Upholding our democracy is more important now than ever.

Not voting is NOT an option. If your state offers early voting, please consider taking advantage of it. It’s too important not to. ❤️🤍💙

✨🩷 TEACHING SELF CONFIDENCE 🩷✨

Yesterday my daughter told me that a friend of hers made a comment about her hair that made her feel sad. I held her and assured her that there is nothing wrong with her hair, and that it is unique, beautiful and special…like she is.

As a person who struggled with self confidence from an early age, I wanted to be sure I used this moment to teach. This was an opportunity to reinforce that being different is ok. That different hair, different skin, different bodies are all ok. In fact, we should celebrate them.

It also gave us the chance to talk about how to handle those tough, negative situations with respect for yourself. I told her to feel empowered to speak up for herself. She likes her hair, so it doesn’t matter what anyone else thinks.

One thing I realized is that it’s never too early to talk to our kids about differences. In this case, my daughters are black with loc’d hair, and have two moms. They will always be different. They will always be unique. And my goal as their mom is to teach them to embrace those special qualities as a superpower. That’s truly something to celebrate. ✨🩷

🍂 HAPPY OCTOBER 🍂

Cheers to the fall!

It’s been a while since I’ve posted, as I’ve needed a break to focus on myself. I’ve spent the past few months in therapy, journaling, meditating, reading and listening to empowering podcasts. It’s really filled my cup. ☕️ 🥰

Like a good mama friend, I wanted to share some of the things that are helping me feel my best right now:

✨ Reading a great book. I’m currently reading “The Body is Not an Apology” by and it is soul stirring in the best way. It has caused me to look at how I view myself differently.

✨ Seed cycling. It turns out that there are seeds that when incorporated into your diet can help regulate hormones resulting in better sleep, less PMS symptoms and overall improved health. Sounds crazy but I can attest to how it has benefited me. Check out to learn more.

✨ Scheduling my annual mammogram. I always do this around my birthday so it becomes an annual thing. Just knowing that I have this on the calendar feels good.

✨ Incorporating an early bedtime. I’m in bed by 8:30pm 😂 It may sound lame, but if I’m in bed by 8:30pm, I can make sure I’m asleep by 9:30pm and ensure I get the sleep I need.

It’s moments like these that remind me of why I started MMM - to connect incredible mamas with each other and help them feel seen and supported. It was great to see old friends and make new. I can’t wait to hang out with this crew again soon!

* BRB… CRYING *

This morning, I went to wake the girls to get them ready for school…but they were already awake. In fact, they were dressed and downstairs sweeping the floors and setting the table for breakfast.

I ran downstairs to give them hugs and they greeted me with this handmade card. The inside made me choke back tears. I don’t always feel like I’m doing the best job as a mom, but moments like these prove otherwise.

Our littles are always listening, watching and learning. They see us. We need to be better about seeing ourselves. Thank you Noë and Naomi for being the best little teachers. This mama is so grateful for you. 🙏🏾🩷

✨ HOW ITS GOING… ✨

Hey mamas! It’s been a month since I went back to work full time. I feel blessed to have landed my dream job. While it’s been an exciting and liberating experience, it’s also been an adjustment.

What I’ve Learned:
✨ I need to get comfortable with things not being perfect. There may be dishes in the sink and laundry to be done. Dinner may be sandwiches from time to time. I may forget about the special color themed dress up day at school. And you know what? It’s OK.

✨ I miss my family more. I find myself really cherishing my time with my kids and wife more now that my schedule has become busier. Weekends are especially precious.

✨ I need to be my own biggest fan. I almost didn’t apply for this opportunity because I questioned if I could still do it. But with each day that passes, I feel more and more confident in my talent.

✨ Self care has never been more important. I wake up early to exercise, drink lots of water and eat lots of snacks. I have to take care of myself and keep my energy up to be successful.

Overall, it’s going great! This mama is thriving. I miss the online mama community, but I look forward to our next Mama Meet Up where I can see my beautiful CT mamas in person.

So here’s some things I’m doing today to help myself feel better and less stressed. ❤️ BOX BREATHING - This simple technique will help you feel more calm. Inhale for 4 seconds, hold for 4 seconds, exhale for 4 seconds, hold for 4 seconds… Repeat. 🤍 TAKE A WALK OUTSIDE - Fresh air and moving your body are the perfect combo to decrease anxiousness. 💙 SPEND TIME WITH A GOOD FRIEND - Call, FaceTime or go to lunch with a friend. Positive vibes produce good endorphins. Also, remember that worrying won’t impact the outcome. So let’s pause, remain optimistic and get through this together. 🇺🇸🙏🏾

✨THE POWER OF MANIFESTATION ✨ Last night, I met one of the people I am most inspired by @tune2tunde. I don’t know her personally, but I know the way she makes me feel when I hop on my @onepeloton bike - strong, resilient and healthy. And although I wasn’t sure how, I knew that one day I would meet her. I manifested it. It’s so appropriate that the first book for the Mamas That Read book club is one about manifestation - The Alchemist. I am a firm believer in manifesting positive things in my life. I first read The Alchemist 13 years ago when some things were shifting in my life. I learned how the Universe would rise up to meet me and shift to help things happen for me. Everything I have…my marriage, my kids, this mama community, my career…I believe God sent to me by way of the Universe. Today we kick off the month of February with this amazing book. It’s not too late to join us in reading this powerful piece of literature.
