Happy Saturday, everyone!

Today we celebrated our daughter's 3rd birthday. I can't even believe it.. time goes by SO fast 😭

Come join us for our closing sale this Saturday and Sunday. We have so many RSVP's already, but if you haven't yet, you can still RSVP on our website ☺️

A couple things...

• I've had a few people inquire about the soft, white rugs. I took these home to clean up but they're pretty stained from seeing so much use. I won't be putting a price on these to sell because of the condition, but below is the link where you can buy. Even better, it's currently on sale ☺️ All other rugs will be available (green/grass rug, rainbow rug, circle knitted rug, multicolored s**g rug)

• Reminder that this event will be cash only. I will have Venmo as an additional option for those who are participating in the silent auction

• If you cannot be there in person Saturday to bid on an auction item, remember to message me your name, number, item, and bidding price. You can message me any time between now and Saturday 2pm. I will call the person with the winning bid after the sale on Saturday - pick up will still need to be Sunday 5/5 from 10a-2p

• There are some items that will be priced together. For example, I'll be selling books in a lump sum and puzzles will be 2/$5

• Please come prepared with a large vehicle if you plan to purchase big items. It will only be me (Abby) running this sale. I will help as much as possible but if you have someone you can bring along to carry items out, it would be greatly appreciated!

• All prices will be firm and returns will not be accepted

Last day for free play, tomorrow 4/24. The weather looks rainy and cold, so it'll be a great day to grab a coffee and come join us for inside fun one last time 🫶🏼

Below are some updates for the closing sale:

•May 4th and 5th from 10a-2pm
•As originally posted, this will be a cash only event
• There will be tables with toys priced at $5, $10 and $20
• Our "big ticket" items (climber, couches, light table, wind tunnel, ect) will be sold through a silent auction. Since so many people have shown interest in these items, we want to make sure everyone has a chance to snag them at a lower price than what you can buy them for online.

-How this works.. each item will be listed by number. You can write down your bidding price and drop it in the associated box for that item. I will call you at the end of the sale on Saturday 5/4 if you're the winning bid. You can pick up your item the next day 5/5 between 10a-2p. This will also give you a good idea for what vehicle you need to bring to transport your item back home ❤️

*if you are unable to make it to Just Playin in person on 5/4, but want to bid on an item(s), please message me and I will fill out a bid for you! Items will still need picked up 5/5 if you're the winning bid

The only items we will not be selling are the tables and chairs from our party room. After we have to close the doors to Just Playin', I will be keeping the business alive as a Party Rental business - tables, chairs, backdrops, balloon garlands and our inflatable balloon bubble will all be available to rent for your special occasion 🥰

Hello again, Just Playin' family. We hope you all enjoyed this beautiful Easter Sunday.

As mentioned earlier, we have news to share. It is with heavy hearts that we announce we have to close our doors. Unfortunately, the price of rent will nearly double in the next couple of months, and we simply cannot afford to stay open and maintain fair prices.

Me, my husband and our daughter have enjoyed this business so much. Many of you have heard our story - we are committed parents and get so much joy from intentional play with our daughter, Ivy. It has been the greatest pleasure having a place where kids can come to play and interact with one another, and a blessing that Ivy has made friends along the way.

We want to say THANK YOU, to everyone who was there to support this business since we took ownership. We hope that Just Playin' provided you and your family a safe and fun place to play and make memories.

-We will remain open throughout April - please come use your gift cards for free play!!

- This closing announcement DOES NOT affect parties that have been booked. Your child will still have an amazing party, don't worry :)

- There are 2 party rental dates in April available to book. Please reach out for more information if interested!

- We will be having a closing sale the first weekend in May, 5/4-5/5. Time is still TBD, but this is your chance to snag your child's favorite toys at a low price! Plus decor, furniture, party supplies and left over boutique clothing :)

Attention everyone from our Just Playin' family!

If you have a party booked, or are thinking about booking a party, please pay close attention to our birthday contract. Our policy states that NO shoes are to be worn inside the play area. We ask that everyone's shoes, adults and children, are taken off at our shoe station.

Please remember that this is not only to help keep our space clean (especially the rug areas), but we have many Littles in our Just Playin' family who are not yet walking and crawl around the play area. We need to make sure our space stays as clean and germ free as possible for our kiddos ❤️

Christmas, Birthdays, Halloween, Disney on ice. All of these things are FUN, yet do you ever find your toddler melting down way MORE than usual??And you're just looking at them like, this is FUN!? What is HAPPENING?! 😩

I get it, "What part of endless presents/treats/joy is hard?!" BUT. Hear us out.

Toddlers have a REALLY hard time with:
➕ Holidays
➕ Family Gatherings
➕ Loud Noises
➕ New Places
➕ Being out of Routine

Why? Toddler brains LOVE stability, routine + knowing what's coming next🧠. Holidays, while fun, can also be overwhelming for a toddler brain, being thrown into a day full of the unknown + no idea what's coming next.

For them, it's like: "Normally when I wake up, I potty, eat breakfast+get dressed. But today, we woke up, headed right to the car to grandma's house, there were lots of people and we did 'presents'? That feels REAL DIFFERENT. What's next?!"

Enter panic🚨

The key to avoiding/minimizing the meltdowns is✨PREP✨

Whether you'll be celebrating with friends/family, or staying home + celebrating, it's still something out of their normal routine. PREP them on all the details of what your family is doing. More details are better!

DAY BEFORE
✨"Tomorrow, we will wake up, drive right to grandma’s house and have breakfast there. Your cousins will be there, we will open presents together. We will stay all day, have dinner there, the go home.”✨

DAY OF:
PREP+narrate throughout the day. "Now we're opening presents, then we'll eat lunch."

PRO TIP: Timers are a GREAT tool to ease those transitions:

✨"In 2 minutes, we're saying bye bye & going home. Do YOU want to push the button on the timer?"✨

PREPing can SERIOUSLY help with lowering the meltdowns! BUT the truth is, they just have a hard time with new/different things. Key: Lower YOUR expectations. Expect meltdowns, so that YOU are prepped + ready to handle them with grace like the warrior parent you are🌈

Happy Sunday, everyone ❤️🙏🏼 We hope you all have had an amazing holiday! Here are a couple updates...

Posting the November calendar as a reminder that we are closed tomorrow, Monday 11/26. We are taking the day to get our doctors appointments in order before the year is over 😅 Open Tuesday-Thursday as normal! The December calendar will be posted this week as well.
