The main goal of the Fourth edition of the Southern Miss Bass Symposium is to expose the United States’ southern region to the vast knowledge, philosophy, music and great pedagogy of iconic figure François Rabbath. This will be Rabbath’

s first visit to the state of Mississippi and will be a historic event in the region. This year’s 3-day symposium will focus on Rabbath’s New Technique for the Double Bass, his bow and left hand technique. Rabbath’s Extended stay:
This year, through a collaboration with the USM Symphony Orchestra and Meridian Symphony, the Symposium’s guest will arrive ahead of time to participate in orchestra rehearsals and 2 performances as soloist.
