There is less than a day left until the moment when we all (our families) will sit down at the festive table, covered with various goodies and various dishes. Let's congratulate each other on this wonderful and joyful holiday. We will give each other gifts and receive them from our loved ones. Today, more than ever, we should pay attention to everything that is around us. Regardless of our temporary problems or unfinished business or setbacks, we are still blessed by God.
Christ gives peace - which we need so much today, peace - which the world is looking for, but often not where it is needed, peace - which is the newborn Jesus, it is he who is the basis.
Christmas is not a holiday of food, it is just a greeting that has been very skillfully used by marketers, it is not an extra day off during which we can do nothing. This is the birth of the One through whom we live today. May He be the reason for our joy every day, and not once a year.
The essence of Christmas is the birth of Jesus Christ. He is the birthday boy, but He gave us a gift by paying for our sins with Himself. Let's remember the true meaning of this Holiday!
Christ is born! Glorify Him!
Христос Рождається! Славімо Його!!
Merry Christmas everyone!
Fr. Eugene

“It’s okay to say Merry Christmas!“

Every Christmas, anti-Christian groups sue some city for erecting a nativity scene on public property. Likewise, fearing they may be perceived as politically incorrect, a handful of retailers replace the word “Christmas” with “Holiday” in their marketing.

It may seem like a small issue, but these things are significant because they diminish the importance of the Christian foundations of our society.

Our ideas of justice, mercy, liberty and love for our fellow man are deeply rooted in the Traditions of the Apostolic Church which includes the Bible, particularly in the life, death and resurrection of Our Lord God and Savior Jesus Christ. That’s why America has been a light among the nations in the world.

Like the angel who appeared to the shepherds saying: “I bring you good news of great joy,” we Christians have a story to tell about the blessings of honoring the true God. Telling the story can start with simply not patronizing stores that use “Happy Holidays” instead of “Merry Christmas” and by reminding those who say “Happy Holidays” that “It’s okay to say Merry Christmas!“

PS. Better yet... say, “Christos Raždajetsja! Christ is Born!“

PPS. We'd credit the author, but the author is unknown.
