Mrs. Claus and I arrived in Salt Lake City, UT today in preparation for spending the 2024 Christmas Season working at the Shops of South Town through Christmas Eve. We begin on Saturday, 11/16 and the only day we will have off is Thanksgiving. We always begin on, or around, my birthday, (11/17), 70 years old this year, and end on our Anniversary, (12/24), which will be 48 years this year. These trips seem to be getting a little harder each year, so we are seriously considering working in San Antonio next year so we can sleep in our own bed. We hope everyone has a happy and safe Holiday Season and a very Merry Christmas. ❤️🎅

Another Dine to Donate night at Bubba’s 33 Alamo Ranch Wednesday evening. We appreciate Bubba’s 33 so much for hosting Lone Star Santas Charities, Inc. for a fund raiser each month. Bubba’s 33 was celebrating the introduction of their bald eagle as their mascot so I got to get some pictures as close to a live bald eagle as I have ever been. I got to visit with a lot of their guests, took lots of pictures with children of all ages, and Bubba’s 33 donated 10% of every check when the guest told their server that they were there to support Lone Star Santa’s Charities, Inc. It was an exhausting evening, but so much fun, and raising some money for Lone Star Santas was the cherry on top. 🎅

We are having some difficulty in gaining access to the actual network video and we will post it as soon as we can work all the bugs out. This video is what Mrs. Claus Marsha recorded from the TV during the live showing. The audio isn’t great so turn up the sound and find out a little about Lone Star Santas Charities and how you can support us.Thank you,Santa SidPresidentLone Star Santas Charities, Inc

For all my neighbors, friends, and family in San Antonio and surrounding areas. Monday, September 16th has been declared Lone Star Santas Day in Texas by several Texas State Legislators. September 16th is 100 days before Christmas and an opportunity for you to help support the mission and purpose of Lone Star Santas Charities. We exist to bring Love, Hope, and Joy all wrapped up in a big Santa hug to children and families that have been devastated by natural disasters. Be it a hurricane, tornado, flood, fire, or any other kind of disaster that devastates a family where children are involved, Lone Star Santas stand ready to deliver toys to those children to help restore some level of normalcy to their lives. We are seeking public support to help us in this mission.
All four Bubba's 33 Restaurants in San Antonio have partnered with us and have pledged to donate 10% of each customer's check to LSS if the customer simply tells their server that they are there to support Lone Star Santas. We thank Bubba's 33 for their generosity and support and ask all of our San Antonio neighbors to help Bubba's 33 in their generous efforts to help Lone Star Santas Charities, Inc.
For more information or to donate directly to LSS, visit our website at lonestarsantas.org.
Thank you,
Santa Sid Dowell
President

Well, we have now been on our pilgrimage for a little over a week, and beyond the blowout on our car carrier on the first day, everything else has been pretty much clear sailing. Our first night was in Canyon, TX and then we arrived in Colorado Springs on Sunday evening. Our grandson, Carter, is with us and he wants to attend the Air Force Academy so we spent Monday touring that. Monday evening we had tickets to the Flying W Ranch for dinner and a show by the Flying W Wranglers. They were good but I liked the show that was performed about 25 years ago better. Tuesday we rode up Pile’s Peak on the Cog Railroad and drove through the Garden of the Gods. We left Colorado Springs Wednesday morning and arrived at an RV park in Sharidan, WY. By Thursday we drove through Montana stopping at Little Bighorn battlefield so my grandson and I could walk through there. By Thursday evening we reached an RV park near Glacier National Park and drove the Highway to the Sun from East to West and back again on Friday. That has got to be one of the most impressive national parks I have ever visited. We spent another night there before crossing the Canadian Boarder on Saturday and driving through most of Alberta. In Sunday, we drove through most of British Columbia, and today, Monday, we made it into Yukon. We have been driving the Trans Canadian Highway to Dawson’s Creek where we picked up the AlCan Highway that will take us to our ultimate destination, North Pole AK. Along the drive through Canada thus far we have seen some moose, a black bear, lots of bison, and a grey wolf. Tomorrow evening we will still be in the Yukon and by Wednesday we should reach the North Pole. It’s been a great trip seeing lots of really beautiful country and enjoying meeting some really great people along the way. Pictures in another later post.
