Edelweiss Winery & Events Sadly, Eberlin died shortly after construction and his brother-in-law, Jacob Colling, and his wife moved in to take care of the five Eberlin children.

Edelweiss Winery: Building History

Built in the early 1850s for Michael Eberlin, the original house was for a winery on the first floor and the space on the upper two floors serving as the family home. The farm encompassed an area much bigger than it is now, but only had two crops – grapes on the hills and wheat on the flat area. By 1870, Colling was making over 2,000 gallons of wine a year; maki

ng the winery the main source of income. The house remained in the family until the last two remaining sisters sold in the spring of 2023. At that point the house had not been lived in for decades and was in need of a major rehab. Clint and Beth Osler, a couple from Kansas City with strong roots in Hermann, purchased the property with the goal of restoring it to the winery that it once was.
