Edelweiss Winery: Building History

Built in the early 1850s for Michael Eberlin, the original house was for a winery on the first floor and the space on the upper two floors serving as the family home. Sadly, Eberlin died shortly after construction and his brother-in-law, Jacob Colling, and his wife moved in to take care of the five Eberlin children. The farm encompassed an area much bigger than

it is now, but only had two crops – grapes on the hills and wheat on the flat area. By 1870, Colling was making over 2,000 gallons of wine a year; making the winery the main source of income. The house remained in the family until the last two remaining sisters sold in the spring of 2023. At that point the house had not been lived in for decades and was in need of a major rehab. Clint and Beth Osler, a couple from Kansas City with strong roots in Hermann, purchased the property with the goal of restoring it to the winery that it once was.

We're Hiring at Edelweiss Winery!
Join our growing team in a beautiful, historic setting! We're currently looking for friendly, enthusiastic individuals to fill the following roles:
🍇 Tasting Room Specialist (Full-time or Part-time) Lead wine tastings, share our story, and help guests select wines. Must be 21+ and available on weekends. Experience is preferred but not required — we’ll train the right person!
🍇 Tasting Room Attendant (Part-time) Help keep the tasting room running smoothly by assisting the team and providing support during busy hours. Must be 18+ and available on weekends. Perfect for someone helpful and customer-focused.
🍇Special Event Staff (On-Call) Looking for occasional work? We’re also building a team for large events! Special Event Staff will be contacted as needed for weddings, festivals, and other big days.

Pay is competitive based on experience, and includes tips.
