Did You Know... Pizza Margherita was named in honor of the Queen of Italy Margherita of Savoy (Margherita is the Italian version of Margaret) by the chef Raffaele Esposito in June 1889, on the occasion of a visit by the queen to Naples.

In fact the colors of the ingredients basil, mozzarella cheese and tomato would represent the colors green, white and red of the Italian flag.

We're excited to welcome Kelli Bonomo as an artist to Date Night in the Park! A Kankakee County native, Kelli takes her musical talent into every aspect she can. At the age of 4, she began playing the piano, singing and performing. Kelli has mastered her craft by rearranging various songs and musical styles, bringing her own arrangements on many different genres. Her ability to perform and entertain her audience shines through her passion for music.

Catch Kelli at this year's Date Night in the Park at the Don Palzer Bandshell at Bird Park on Friday, June 14. Kelli will be performing 6:00-8:00 pm.
