We cook hot and fast on Gateway Drum Smokers and go through an entire competition from beginning to end starting with trimming all the way through turn in boxes and then you try the food.

I give out a handout of all recipes and timelines to allow you to spend your time watching and learning instead of taking tons of notes.

Finally getting around to making a post for the American Royal World Series of Barbecue®. Been so busy with work and kids stuff in the evening and Nicky flew out of town as soon as we got home on Monday. As usual we had an amazing time hanging out with BBQ family. It took a bit to recover for sure. We did manage to get a call in chicken in the invitational with a 10th place over all finish and a score of a 701 out of 169 teams. Very happy with the finish. The open we turned in some good food, judges didn’t agree lol 😂.

2024 Bbq season has ended for us. We had an extremely busy year with kids sports (sports still going on) and filled in weekends here and there with BBQ comps. We’re looking forward to see how 2025 goes. I’m sure it will be the same level of busy.

Can’t begin to thank all that helped us out during the 2024 season. Korte Meats Competition Bbq for always having the best meats . Heavy Smoke BBQ and Blues Hog for some of the best rubs. Gateway Drum Smokers for having the best smokers.

Good morning from the KOA campground in Oak Grove Missouri. Tired but still got to work remotely. Finally getting around to a recap from day 2 at BooBQue BBQ Championship 2024.

Good enough for overall Grand Champion with a 705.

Day 2 is another chilly day at BooBQue BBQ Championship 2024. Day 1 we were a little off but did manage to get a 3rd place call in ribs with a finish of 14th overall out of 53 teams. Good luck to all that’s cooking today.
