Check out this free dance class called IBOP Kids!! The class was created by an ELM parent alum and the owner of Pardio Fitness! Highly recommend!

iBOP Kids is starting July 10! iBOP stands for "I am a bold, open-hearted, phenomenal kid!" Kids love to move in time with music and sing along to songs they know. In this follow-the-leader style format, your child will build confidence, coordination, self-esteem and most importantly…learn to love moving. The movement patterns will stem from various dance idioms, childhood games and creative resources that are designed to be fun and engaging. The music will be sourced from a variety of Kidz Bop tunes, featuring popular songs, sung by kids with kid friendly lyrics.
This is a FREE summer class and is open to all kids in the community and surrounding neighborhoods. Classes run Tues & Thurs from July 10th - August 7th (10am-10:30am).

Round 2 of "End of Year Parades" today- this time for Elderberry and Laurel MWF AM classes! The students were buzzing with excitement all morning as they prepared for their march! 🎉

T/TH classes and Sequoia room had their End of Year Parade today! 🥳 The students were delighted to see their families cheer for them and all they have accomplished this school year!

Sequoia classroom students had a "favorite character" dress up day today. It was so cute seeing the variety of their costumes!

Today, Sequoia students challenged themselves to duplicate complex picture cards using circles and lines. They were proud of the end results and some students added in a few extra details of their own making!

Our new block sets have arrived and the students jumped right in with creative ways to use them. These rainbow blocks became tunnels, ramps, houses, a volcano, rivers, and more!

We kicked off our plant and flowers science study unit with some hands-on activities using soil and seeds. The students will get to be involved in the care of the grass and bean plants that grow from these seeds and we will add them to our ELM garden! 🌸 🏵 🪴

A volunteer from Washington County's "Oregon Agriculture in the Classroom" literacy program came to visit the Sequoia room today! She read the book "Up in the Garden and Down in the Dirt", talked about garden friends and foes, and played a fun game with the students!

The students were up and moving today as they played some active sight word games. Hands-on activities like these help keep them engaged and having fun while learning!

In art this week the children made 'Synergy Wheels.' They each designed a part of the project, which allowed them to see the impact of their individual creativity on the final result. By working together, they discovered the power of synergy and how it can lead to amazing outcomes!
