Get your eclipse glasses at Parma Public Library 😎 On a first come first serve basis! Hilton Parma Recreation will have free glass at their viewing event on April 8 at Parma Town Park!🌝🌞

THE MOMENT IS FINALLY HERE! Free solar eclipse glasses are now available to the public at the Parma Public Library! Up to 2 pairs of glasses will be given out per household in accordance with RMSC recommendations. A member of the household must be present to receive glasses.

So many great local events taking place April 8! 🌝🌞

If you haven’t heard already, there’s gonna be a Total Solar Eclipse happening on April 8th, which is one month away!

On Monday, April 8, 2024, we will be opening up the Cidery from 11am-7pm for a family-friendly opportunity to enjoy food and drink specials, live music and a once-in-a-lifetime viewing of the total solar eclipse as it passes directly over the Cidery.

Lucky for us, Blue Barn will be in the direct path of the total Eclipse! Yep, we said it, and maybe we're bragging a little but WE'RE IN THE PATH OF TOTALITY. So nice of the Sun, Moon, and Earth to do us that honor.

If you’re located in an area with little light pollution, you’ll be able to see some of the brightest stars, like Orion, and even a few planets — notably Jupiter and Venus. **Perfect reason to come to Blue Barn (no street lights or business lights)!

Youth ages 8 to 12 can learn about the upcoming solar eclipse during this month's Tween STEAM! We will be making pinhole viewers, moon phase cookies, and more! No registration required.

Eclipse glasses will be distributed to program attendees at the end of the program. Families will receive 2 pairs of eclipse glasses as per Rochester Museum & Science Center recommendations.

We've gotten some questions about our Solar Eclipse Glasses! We will be handing out a pair glasses to each attendee at the end of designated programs, some of which require registration to due to space constraints (here's the list):

After all the designated programs are over, we will be handing out glasses starting March 25th on a first-come, first-serve basis, 1-2 pairs per family per the recommendation from RMSC. Family members can share glasses.

🚨Total Solar Eclipse Glasses UPDATE🚨

Parma Public Library will be distributing FREE TSE Glasses on March 25 to the general public 🕶 Hilton Parma Recreation will be distributing FREE TSE Glasses at their viewing event at Parma Town Park on April 8 🕶 All will be first come first serve basis!

We have gotten a lot of questions about eclipse glasses for the total solar eclipse happening on April 8, 2024!

The Parma Library will hand out eclipse glasses at the end of designated events starting in and through March. We will advertise those in our monthly events flyers and e-mail, and on social media. If we have glasses left after all the designated events, we will be offering glasses first come first serve starting Monday, March 25th. Each library may be distributing their glasses differently.

We will distribute 1-2 pairs per family per the RMSC recommendation.

Well, if you did't know consider yourself informed🧐 Hilton Parma Recreation along with the Town of Parma, the Village of Hilton, and Community Stakeholders are working together on a Solar Eclipse Task Force to ensure our community is well prepared and to provide a positive experience for the influx of tourists visiting👍 Make sure to check in for regular updates and information.
