Rita Gayle (Warden) Hughes, born December 30, 1946, to Roy Wesley “Bud” Warden and Thelma Ruth (Dougherty) Warden, passed away on Friday, December 27, 2024, at Select Specialty Hospital in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, at the age of 77. Rita was raised in Hinton, Oklahoma, and graduated from Hinton High School in 1964. She married Tom Hughes on December 17, 1966, in Wichita Falls, Texas. After living in California for a few years, they returned to the Hinton area to raise their family. Rita worked as a hairdresser before dedicating herself to raising her children. She managed Tom’s entrepreneurial endeavors, served as City Clerk for the Town of Hinton, and was active on the library boards in Hinton and Clinton. Rita also worked as a receptionist for Dr. Mann in Clinton and helped run The Firing Pin in Hinton and Clinton for many years. Rita loved reading, solving crossword puzzles, cross-stitching, listening to Willie Nelson songs, and singing on the porch. She was a gifted storyteller and poet who delighted in sharing her creative works. She was a member of Saint Mary Catholic Church in Clinton.
Rita is survived by her husband, Tom Hughes of Clinton, Oklahoma; children: Amy Mann and her husband, Dr. Mark Mann of Clinton, Oklahoma; Rae Lyn Belt and her husband, James of Piedmont, Oklahoma; and Sara Sigmon and her husband, Dr. Jason Sigmon of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; stepdaughter Kristi Thompson and her husband, Stephen of Higdon, Arkansas; stepson David Hughes of California; and honorary daughter Peri Perkins of Dallas, Texas; Her cherished grandchildren include Lindsay Cho and her husband, James of Olathe, Kansas; Alison Garrett and her husband, Billy of Edmond, Oklahoma; Brandon Mack, and his wife Dayana of Tuttle, Oklahoma; Madeline Wiest and her husband, Zac of Clinton; Matt Mann and his wife, Kadi, of Edmond, Oklahoma, Jessica Pool and her husband, Jake of Mustang, Oklahoma; Jaqueline Hughes and her wife, Paige of El Reno, Oklahoma; Gabrielle Fink and her husband, Mark of Hinton; Brent Hughes and Kaelee Livingston of Oklahoma City; Lily, McKynna, and Mary Kate Sigmon all of Oklahoma City; Jack Sigmon of Fort Collins, Colorado; Jason Ferry and his wife, Steevee of Maumelle, Arkansas; Paige Sisson and her husband, Brooks of Conway, Arkansas; Natalie Ezell and her husband, Mat of Fayetteville, Arkansas; and Jacob and Nick Hughes of California; Rita’s legacy also includes her beloved great-grandchildren: Bennett, Caleb, John William, Henry, Wiley, Thomas, Beth, Jane, Micah, Dawson, Hunner, Grayson, Stella, Scottie, and Dixie. She is also survived by her sister, Rae Ann Goddard, and her husband, Ronnie, of Hinton.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Bud Warden and Bob and Ruth Casstevens; and her grandparents, James Joseph “Beep” Dougherty and Claudia Dougherty.
In lieu of flowers the family request memorial donations to The Western Plains Library Association, 501 S. 28th, Clinton, OK 73601
A graveside service will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery in Hinton on Monday, December 30, 2024, at 1:00 PM.

Tony Barger was born on May 6, 1943 in Hinton, OK to Floyd Milford and Roberta Imogene (Hiser) Barger. Tony passed away on December 22, 2024 in Yukon, OK at the age of 81. He graduated from Lookeba-Sickles High School. He served in the US Navy during the Vietnam War. When returning from the Navy when he topped the hill overlooking sugar creek valley he told his dad he never wanted to leave there again. He married Kathy Taylor, and later Tony married Carolyn Sims. He farmed in Lookeba, worked in the oilfield, and was a jack of all trades. He loved to work and loved visiting with people. He later married Rhonda White.

Survivors Include: his wife, Rhonda White of the home Lookeba, OK, his children, Wayne Barger and wife Deanna of Lookeba, OK, Donal Barger and wife Babs of Union City, OK, Aaron Barger and wife Sharon of Scott, OK, Brenda Barger of Hinton, OK, and Debbie Potaracke and husband Tom of Wasaw, WI, his step children, Bobby McCannon and wife Lyndsi of Blackwell, OK, Trena Barrows and her husband Tony of Blackwell, OK, Taylor and Talon McCannon; his grandchildren, Justin Barger and wife Nac of Hydro, OK, Jessy Barger and wife Nicole of Weatherford, OK, Candy Smith and husband Donnie of Leedey, OK, D.J. Barger and Tamera Shepard of El Reno, OK, Layci Thomas and husband Hunter of Rockport, TX, Jered Fowler and wife Kelly of Fairland, OK, and Brandon Fowler of Barnsdall, OK; step grandchildren, Amy Dobson, Tyler Barrows, Dominique Topper, Genton Challis and wife Tabiie, Drake Stout, Christian McCannon, and Brile ; 13 great grandchildren; numerous step great grandchildren, his siblings, Richard Barger of Hinton, OK, and Kelly Smith and husband Stacy of Hinton, OK, as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Tony was preceded in death by his parents, Milford and Imogene Barger, his sister, Linda Wilson, and his nephew, Payton Kole Oglesby.

Charlene Wright was born on December 3, 1931, in Hinton, OK to Charley and Clara (Epton) Erickson. Charlene passed away on December 17, 2024, in Weatherford, OK at the age of 93. She grew up near Hinton. Charlene attended Walnut School as a child and graduated from Hinton High School. She married J.C. Wright on January 6, 1951, in El Reno, OK; together they raised their sons, Ronnie and Danny. Throughout the years, Charlene worked at the office at Cedar Lake, drove a school bus, worked in kindergarten, and worked at the Hampton’s grocery Store. Every Sunday, Charlene had breakfast with her boys. She was also known as the Sunday cook, cooking for big groups; people in town liked to use their home for home base. She was a member of the Dorcas Quilt Club, enjoyed playing cards and dominoes. Charlene lived a very blessed life and accepted all people. She was a member of the Scott Baptist Church most of her life and later joined First Baptist Church in Hinton.

Survivors Include: her sons, Ronnie Wright and wife Kim of Hinton, OK, and Danny Wright and wife Donna of Hinton, OK, her grandchildren, Jaci Wright, Michael Wright and wife Claudia, Seth Wright and wife Kelly, Micah Wright, Lonnie Wright and wife Karen, and Libby Wright, great grandchildren, Danni Wright, Tess, Waylon, and Levi Wright, Taylir Wright, Haley Wright and Justin Branen, Jacob Wright, Lily Wright, and Brynn Wright, her great-great grandchildren, Myla and Cutter as well as many other relatives and friends.

Charlene was preceded in death by her parents, Charley and Clara Erickson, her husband, J.C. Wright, her grandson, Clay Wright, her siblings, Carl, LeRoy, Cecil, Jack, and Oscar Wright, Kathryn Benninga, LaVena Hudgens, Betty Wright, and Lena Wiatt.

Services: 10AM, Friday, December 20, 2024, First Baptist Church, Hinton, OK
Officiating: Rev. Keith Gillham and Mr. Jimie -Wray Mead
Burial: Niles Cemetery, Hinton, OK
