Next Sunday come to our event at Main Street Food Truck Park & Entertainment Center to paint pumpkins with Wednesday!! There will be pumpkin painting, photo ops, games and more!! Plus access to great food and friends! 🖤🖤 Help us raise money for the Down Syndrome Association of Houston Buddy Walk!

I have accepted an AMAZING position as an intern with a Counseling Group. 🙏🏼💕

As I begin, I'm working to create an inviting and functional play therapy space for the children we serve. Our Counseling group provides affordable mental health services to members of our local community, many of whom have limited access to these vital resources.

I'm starting from scratch and need to furnish and equip this room to create a safe, comfortable, and enriching environment for the children we work with. My goal is to help build their self-esteem, address any trauma-related issues, and improve their communication skills - all while gaining invaluable experience as a future therapist.

Some key items I'm seeking to create this special space include:

- Comfortable beanbags and small armchairs for kids to sit and play
- A cozy area rug to define the space
- Shelves or bins to hold therapeutic toys and games
- Drawing paper, markers, crayons, and other art supplies
- Play therapy tools like puppets, dolls, and sandtrays
- Children's books on topics like emotions, social skills, and self-esteem

As this private practice is not a nonprofit organization, I'm reaching out to my network to see if anyone would be willing to donate new or gently used items from this list. Your support would make a meaningful difference in the lives of the children we aim to serve.

If you're able to contribute, please let me know. I'm happy to provide more details about the practice and our therapy program. Together, we can create a safe haven where young clients can heal, learn, and thrive.
