On July 25, 2025, The Philippine American Chamber of Commerce Greater Houston Region
PACC Texas - Greater Houston Region had the honor of paying a courtesy visit to Mayor Dan Davis of the City of Manvel, Texas. This meaningful exchange highlighted the importance of community collaboration, economic growth, and supporting small businesses in the region.

As a small business owner and lifetime member of the Philippine-American Chamber of Commerce, joining this dynamic network has opened doors to valuable resources, strategic connections, and business opportunities. From mentorship and advocacy to community engagement and support, the Chamber empowers entrepreneurs to thrive and make a lasting impact.

Thank you to Atty. Aileen Ligot Dizon, Texas State President of the Philippine-American Chamber of Commerce for the invitation. It was a meaningful and productive meeting, and an honor to be extended an invitation to join her, the PACC-GH Executive Director Atty. Jay Ilagan, Region Chair Margarita Truong, Region Vice Chair Jun Juguilon with Board of Directors Tess Tuazon, Marilyn Rogers and PACC-GH Founders Flor Guinhawa and Tito Refi on this visit.

We shared our very own KAPE TAYO Philippine coffee as a gift and shared our story, our challenges and wins as a Small Business owner.

Welcoming our 1st walk-in customers today from Bahamas and Tobago of the Carribean Islands! They are vacationing in Houston for the 1st time and was looking for some coffee and breakfast place. Found us on google. So glad to hear they love our Pinoy Cappuccino, Vincent’s Vanilla Latté and our Breakfast Chicken Tacos! With their permission I snapped a souvenir 📸. One of them is celebrating her birthday today, shared some of our pastries as a birthday treat. With every brew, KAPE TAYO Houston continues to bring Philippine Coffee ☕️ for the world to taste!

As a community-rooted café, we believe in sharing God’s blessings and giving back to the Church that continues to uplift and guide us. This special gathering of 60 Filipino Boholano priests from across USA, Canada and Bohol Philippines is not only a celebration of faith and unity, but a meaningful way to support church missions and ministries close to our hearts. The Boholanos have been close to our hearts. Not only because we come from neigboring islands in the Visayas region in the Philippines but also because most of them that we met in Houston are good and kind people. We have seen and felt their support to KAPE TAYO Houston. We are returning their kind gesture and support them in their good Cause.

Today was a great day as we learned they enjoyed their Lunch cooked with love courtesy of KAPE TAYO Café. Our second year serving the Boholano priests.

Tonight as we support their Concert for a Cause, we enjoyed great OPM hits of all time. A great way to unwind.

From every cup we brew, every dish we cook to every hand we serve, it’s all for something greater. We are happy to share our blessings and serve our purpose in this business and to our community All for HIS greater glory.🙏

Today our hearts are filled with Joy and gratitude as we welcomed back our 1st-ever customer of Kape Tayo who surprised us and paid us a visit in our new location at Energy Corridor. He ordered his favorite De Luxe Burger and more. This is Phil. He used to be a regular at our 1st location at the food court. Our 1st-ever customer who has become a regular and now has become a friend. He finally made it to our new location 8 months later since we moved. It is a long drive from his place to our new location. Yet he made the effort and it was not left unnoticed. Since we moved, from time to time he would message and check on us how we’re doing. He is not family, nor in our friends’ circle yet he thought of us from time to time and how he can support in his own little way. He is a good man. He saw our joys, our struggles, our pains and sacrifices when we were at the food court. Our real pains at the food court known only to a a very few people we trust. He was there most of the time, a living witness to our story.

It is amazing how impactful a simple gesture of thoughtfullness and kindness can go a long way and make one’s day. In life and in business, the people who gives us the greatest joys and support are those whom we least expect it. In life, the greatest joys are not all about how much others give materially, but it’s all about how others simply make us feel. Genuine connections. Sometimes the simplest gesture of just showing up, one’s presence and visit is more than enough to show your support. You’ll never know what one’s day has been and who knows your presence is more than enough to put a smile on their faces. Support does not always mean monetary. Sometimes it’s the push and the joy of knowing there are those rooting for you and your success. Those who believe you can do it in times when you doubt.

Today we welcomed more customers, employees from across the street at Houston’s west side Lexus dealership. They have been coming to KAPE TAYO since they found our place and loved our food. This past Saturday, while I’m busy doing my wedding event gig, my hubby chef Jeff was busy at the café catering to their food tray orders. Glad and grateful they love the food!
