Soar-I just received an email from my youngest daughter’s preschool teacher asking me to send her one photo from every year of my daughter’s life to display in a photo walk to celebrate her summer birthday. Does she know how impossible a task this is? 😂 I’ve been combing through my photos of her life, thinking that it had to be only yesterday that I was taking pictures of her in that field of flowers. Or what about the tub photos, or the ones with the bubbles? Those were maybe a month or two ago. I started a Lightroom Collection (as you do) and I’m dropping photos in as I find them. Here is one from two years ago with her sisters enjoying a hot summer day.

Weekend vibes

Recharged-We spent the weekend away on another island and it was glorious to unplug and recharge as a family. I’m not going to lie, we were all happy to see our wifi reconnect when we got home, but for a few brief days we slowed down and took in the simpler life. I love a good internet detox, as it gets me focused on the moment and those around me. Do you schedule in internet free days? Camera free vacations?

To be honest, as I uploaded images from my SD card today, I chastised myself that I didn’t take as many pictures as I thought I should have. I’ll post a few more images next week, but I really only took my camera out two or three times. Do you feel guilty when you don’t take enough photos on vacations?

Calamansi-We have two large bushes full of this tangy citrus fruit. It’s sour like lime and is used as a garnish in traditional Philippine dishes. You can also find calamansi juice in most markets, stores, and restaurants.

Shield Aralia-The cupped shaped leaves of this tree are so beautiful after it rains. In searching for the name of the plant I learned the bark can be used as a natural deodorant and in dishes to mask pungent smells.
