Camp Lucy is one of the premier venues in Dripping Springs! And with three gorgeous spaces to choose from, it will be hard to decide which one you love the most. The luxury hotel rooms let guests stay and enjoy the property all weekend long and enjoy Texas Wine Country.

The iconic Sacred Oaks gives a breathtaking backdrop for your ceremony, with heritage oaks and twinkling lights. Plus, it is just steps away from the Grand Hall, which can hold up to 350 guests.

Ian’s Chapel features a resorted 19th-century French colonial chapel for your ceremony and a large Events Hall for your reception. The Vineyard is the newest space and has a permanent 99-foot Savannah Sperry Tent, lit with bistro lights. This space lets you get married right within the resort’s Vineyard!

Inspired by Old World Tuscany, and filled with Mediterranean-style details, Escondido Golf And Lake Club is a unique wedding venue. The main Clubhouse has stucco walls, curved doorways and windows, and terracotta-colored brick that really makes you feel like you have traveled to Italy. The large lawns give you plenty of space to add a tent if you decide on an outdoor reception.

Taylor found the wedding dress of her dreams in “The Melrose” gown by Lela Rose. The ballgown style features an all-over embroidery pattern with romantic details, including a peaked bodice and the most amazing pair of off-the-shoulder balloon sleeves.

To complete her look, Taylor wore her hair swept into an elegant slick-back bun and accessorized with gold statement earrings adorned with miniature pearls.

Garden party-inspired weddings are always popular, and Mattie's is the perfect spot! Tucked in the heart of South Austin, Mattie’s gives you the feeling of a secluded garden, but the convince of being downtown. Mattie’s is also focused on sustainable and eco-friendly catering, with locally sourced ingredients and customizable menus that all of your guests will love.

If you are looking for an intimate reception, the Lounge Room is a beautiful space with original hardwood floors and wooden accents and can accommodate 32 guests. Or, if you prefer an outdoor space, you can tent their outdoor lawn, for a beautiful evening reception under cafe lights.

This October wedding at Two Wishes Ranch married the beauty of the Texas countryside with an elevated aesthetic fit for the front page of any wedding magazine.

While Taylor and Michael chose the ranch as a nod to their Texas roots, they still wanted their day to feel high-class, with nods to quiet luxury. WhittRoss Camille Ross expertly wove together each element to help the couple achieve their vision.

2024 Wedding Trend: Venues Take Center Stage

I love how venues are at the forefront of design. A striking departure from traditional invitations, modern couples are including outlines and paintings of the venues onto invitations and detail cards.

A recent couple, Audrey and Brandon, included a peacock on their invitations because their venue – ’s Green Pastures in Austin – has an array of peacocks on the property!

Another couple, Danielle and Eric, also had a nod to their greenhouse location in their invitations. I loved the laser-intend invitation wraps with the ironwork of The Greenhouse At Driftwood.

Hotel Ella is quickly becoming one of my favorite spots in Downtown Austin! This stylish boutique hotel is in the historic Goodall Wooten House, one of Austin’s original estates. This venue’s history is rooted in weddings! It was built as a wedding gift from Goodall Wooten to his bride, Ella Newsome. The hotel has been renovated to highlight the historic 1900’s home, with modern art and contemporary design.

My favorite area is their large lawn, which is perfect for ceremonies and intimate receptions. You can also buy out the property and have guests stay right on site! They also have indoor options for those hot Austin summers.

If you have been following me for a while, you know how much I love the Four Seasons Hotel Austin!

This location is perfect for destination weddings or weddings with a lot of out-of-town guests. The hotel offers multiple spaces, including its lawn for outdoor weddings and ballrooms. The Four Seasons has three outdoor spaces, including one with a view of the famous Lady Bird Lake.

The Four Seasons offer multiple spaces for a gorgeous reception if you are having a church ceremony. The main ballroom can house up to 1000 guests, while the smaller San Jacinto Ballroom is more intimate and can house 180. The main ballroom also overlooks Lady Bird Lake, which makes a stunning view in the evening hours. Or, you can tent the area, like Ashley and Daniel did!

When picking your engagement session, you don’t want to be too “matchy” in photos, you do want to pick outfits that complement each other. One way is to wear the same “dressiness” as your partner.

Another way is to wear complimenting colors.Hang up the items next to each other before the shoot, to make sure the colors coordinate. Some of the best-popping color palettes? Blue and white (like Wendy & Paul below), gray with white or a soft blue, or cream and khaki.

Our venue feature of the week is Woodbine Mansion!

One of the most beautiful estates in the Texas Hill Country, Woodbine Mansion is always a favorite of my couples. The original home was built in 1931, and has been redesigned with a Greek-revival style that is perfect as a backdrop for an outdoor ceremony.

The venue boasts two spacious courtyards, so you can select the one you love the most. The private gardens and gazebo are well-manicured and make for beautiful portraits, especially at sunset! The property boasts a beautiful indoor space for smaller weddings, but many couples chose to tent the lawn, where you can hold up to 300 guests.

This space is also great for engagement sessions since you can get a variety of backgrounds all in one space!

One of my favorite trends in 2024 is Quiet Luxury!

Inspired by Sofia Richie’s French Riviera wedding, some couples opt for monochromatic color palettes, simple silhouettes, and posey bouquets. My couple, Charlotte and Patrick, were the epitome of quiet luxury!

Their wedding at Commodore Perry Estate was designed around exquisite details, starting with their classic letterpress invitations. Charlotte chose a posey bouquet of lily of the valley and gardenias, also included in the wedding decor.

Looking for your Austin wedding photographer? Here is quick tip!

Ask your photographer if they have shot at your venue before.

Even if your photographer has not shot at your venue, they may be willing to visit the venue before your wedding to see the space. Each venue has unique spaces and lighting. Even if I have photographed at a venue before, I still arrive early the day of the wedding to tour the property and pick out the portrait location spots for that specific day!

Lighting changes month to month, even day to day, and each season is different. So I make sure even if I have shot dozens of weddings at the venue, that I know how the lighting will be on your wedding day!
