◽️Weddings are a melting pot of traditions, both old and new. The bouquet toss tradition is one that has existed for hundreds of years and evolved over time. In this tradition, brides toss their bouquet over their shoulders and into a group of single women. Whoever catches the bouquet is supposedly “next” to walk down the aisle.

◽️The tradition of the bouquet toss as we know it today started in England in the 1800s, but the origin of this tradition is even older. Prior to the 1800s, it was considered good luck to simply touch the bride on her wedding day. Hopeful single girls would often rush the bride—crowding her, touching her—in the hopes that a little bit of the bride’s wedding-day good fortune would rub off on them and they would soon be married.

◽️As society has progressed, marriage has become more of a choice for women, so they don’t necessarily need luck. The bouquet toss tradition has endured over the years and evolved into a fun way for a bride to share the spotlight with her single friends and work some friendly competition into the wedding itinerary.

◽️”If you're getting married, I highly recommend using Brey & Co to help. Chris and Michelle were absolutely amazing to work with and I can't recommend them enough! With just a little over a month to go before our wedding, they stepped in as Day of Coordinators and saved the day, helping to alleviate a lot of our stress and anxiety while they created a beautiful and memorable day for us. Michelle must be clairvoyant as she somehow managed to create the exact vision of what we wanted - a modern, minimal, and warm wedding. We were blown away by how much the decor and set up accurately reflected who we are as a couple, especially given the short amount of time Michelle had to pull everything together. I was impressed with Michelle's eye, vision, creativity, and ability to execute the vision we wanted. I also really appreciate that she was very cognizant and respectful of our budget constraints. Chris' organizational skills and upbeat demeanor were a fresh of breath air. He coordinated with all the vendors before our wedding day, making sure everyone was aware of the timeline and helping field any questions. If anyone can herd cats, it's Chris. On the day of, he put on his Master of Ceremonies hat and made sure the day flowed smoothly. All of our guests raved about Michelle's decor and loved Chris as Master of Ceremonies. They both excel at what they do. They're warm, friendly, communicative, responsive, and just solid individuals to work with. We couldn't have asked for a better duo to help us plan and execute our wedding!”
