My College Football Playoff Teams:

1. Michigan
2. Washington
3. Texas
4. Alabama

I can’t believe I’m leaving out a 13-0 P5 conference champion but I just don’t see Florida State beating any of those other 4 with a backup quarterback.

I think a 4-team playoff is crazy. I’m glad it’s expanding.

Allow me to brag on someone…

November 21, 2023: “Rashi Vats Day” in Houston, Texas.

Today the city I love celebrated the person I adore. I am so unbelievably proud of the woman I’m blessed to call my wife. She is strong, she is beautiful, she is passionate, she is a role model…but more importantly she has a heart of gold.

As Mayor Sylvester Turner told you, today was not given…it was EARNED. I love you, Rashi.

Proud doesn’t even begin to describe what I feel when I think about how far you’ve come. I’m just happy you’re letting me come along for the ride.

Lance Berkman ➡️Houston Sports Hall of Fame Last week, I caught up with Astros legend Lance Berkman right after he learned of his induction into the Houston Sports Hall of Fame. Lance and 2 others will be recognized at the 2024 Houston Sports Awards in January.

Last Friday, the College Football Playoff Foundation along with the Big 12 Conference, University of Houston & the Harris County - Houston Sports Authority unveiled a newly upgraded media center at Hobby Elementary in HISD. The project kicked off Extra Yard for Teachers Week & is 1 of 6 area schools getting Extra Yard Makeovers through the 2023-24 school year.

Well, this was different! Back in a TV studio where I spent 14 years. Had the pleasure of joining KPRC2 Owen Conflenti and KPRC2 Sofia Ojeda today during their new 10 am newscast to talk about my new role at the Harris County - Houston Sports Authority and our upcoming Hall of Fame Day where we will recognize Bruce Matthews, Calvin Murphy and Elvin Hayes. It was like riding a bike...

It was great having 6 of the top Low Point Wheelchair Rugby teams from across the country in town over this past holiday weekend. TIRR Memorial Hermann and the Harris County - Houston Sports Authority partnered to host the event...the first tournament of it's kind in the nation. Congrats to all the competitors!
