BOY MOMS
Someone shared this with me and i knew i needed to share it with you. No truer words. Deep breath. Here we go.
You always hear about a girl’s daddy “giving his daughter away” on her wedding day. I had never thought much about the mommas and their sons. But y’all mommas give away something too. Something just as precious. Something I knew I would never get back.
I gave away being the one he hugs and kisses
I gave away being the one he looks for in a crowd
I gave away being the first person he turns to when things get tough
I gave away being the one he makes laugh in the middle of day
I gave away being his number one girl
I gave away a piece of my heart
I gave away my son
Deep down I know he will always love me but I also know he loves her more. He loves her more than his momma and that’s ok. That’s how I knew he had found the one. But isn’t that what we want? We want them to marry a girl who they will put first even if it means we become second.
Mommas,
Love him while you are still first
Kiss his sweet baby face and linger in those lanky teenage hugs
Drive him to school even when he is grumpy and doesn’t say a word to you
Listen when he needs to vent and blow off steam
Love on his friends
Bring the motrin to school for the 100 thousandth time. He may have a headache OR he may just want to get out of class and chat with you for a minute.
Sit next to his hospital bed even though he screwed up
Soak up every minute under those Friday night lights.
Love him, forgive him and forgive yourself for the things you didn’t get right
Because one day, you will give him away....
You will stand and watch him give his heart to the love of his life. You will dance and he will say the sweetest things about who he has become because of you. He will hug you tight and it will feel a little bit like a goodbye. You will become his second best girl and it will be so dang HARD.

Have you ever seen a perfect storm? I believe I may have this past weekend.
As wedding coordinator and decorator, we were checking the weather all day. The mother of the bride asked me if we were going to actually pull off the wedding without it storming on us. I replied, all I know is I have been praying that God gives us enough time to have the ceremony outside. I know we’ve been asking for rain and it’s selfish to ask that it only comes at a certain time but if God could just allow us to have the ceremony , the trade off was that the message from the ceremony would speak to all of us as a reminder that a marriage is stronger with Jesus, and the triangle ( used as centerpieces as well as the arch) represents Jesus at the top connecting husband to wife at the bottom corners. It was truly a lovely and meaningful message.

The ceremony lasted about 30 minutes, there was an hour of pictures with some thunder and lightening , then the grand entrance was complete and about 10 minutes after that , the rain started , the storm blew in, it poured for 15-20 minutes and it was followed with a gorgeous rainbow! 🌈

With Gods help, we pulled off a perfect evening with perfect timing of some much needed rain, and a glorious rainbow to follow.

My coordinating crew also pulled off the perfect sparkler send off. While Sawywr and Bekah had their last dance , we prepared the line of 200 people with the hope that our timing of the lighting of the sparklers lasted all the way to the end. The photographer told me timing was everything…..nothing like more pressure. 🤣🙏 With continued Gods favor, we pulled it off.

June 1 , 2024, I can say that I saw the perfect storm with a perfect rainbow , with the most perfect smiles, and beautiful hearts. May God continue to bless their marriage. I know my own heart is better from this wedding weekend.

This wedding kicked off Special Daze Design and I can’t express how good it feels to finally , after 14 months, have my first wedding design accomplished.

We had so much fun last year at Brandi’s greenhouse, we decided to host a second Galentine’s Day event. Only this time, we’ll be able to have room for more gal pals!

Can you all believe it’s 2024? UNBELIEVABLE!!!!!
Weddings are being booked and Special Daze Design is being hired. So excited to be a part of several happy moments.
As I transition into this new venture, I feel nervous, anxious ( in a good way) , giddy, you know - all the things.
Some new arches are being built, custome pieces designed, special centerpiece requests.
The weddings I’ve been hired for so far this year are all extremely unique , and I can honestly say that it excites me to be helping transpire a vision.
I hope you continue to watch for updates. 2024 starts off slow but it when it gains momentum - we are off!

The picture below has been one of the most fun creations that I’ve helped capture in 2023. My neices love dress up time. And as I was watching them , I thought I needed to create a special time for them AND promote the venue and my crazy thought process. 🤪

So if all goes right ( the weather on Friday 20-30 mph winds forecasted) and I can get it all out together before 10 am Saturday, I will have the outside wedding area set up in display for a wedding preview. Of course I’ll be decorating in fall fashion. I may have a few obstacles but never doubt me, I’ll find a way.
I’ll also have a table set up inside to preview a few of Special Daze Designs added touches. I may or may not have conned someone into making my Grandmas wedding mints. 😉They are the best 🥰
Other vendors and services will be showcased as an example of benefits we are trying to show is available in our area.

And as always , our high light , main attraction, the Tipsy Farmer , is in the house. The Margs are my favorite, come find yours 🥂

I am so excited to be the wedding planner for this couple.
I have watched these kids grow up and I genuinely love their mothers. The fact that Bekah has entrusted me with her dream wedding is very flattering.
I have already designed and had a prototype built for her centerpieces.

I cannot be more thrilled that The Wild Sage Ranch was chosen for this couples wedding reception. They chose to have their ceremony on the beach with close family and then celebrate their marriage at the venue with extended family and friends.

I personally am vested in this young woman and am so excited we get to share all the love we’ve poured into this project and in return celebrate the love these two have for each other.

Question- What would an awesome NFR Party look like to you?

Answer- The Wild Sage Ranch, The Tipsy Farmer, Special Daze Design, great music, some tastey food, live performance on big screen, maybe throw in a mechanical bull. How about a Calcutta ? A rope off? A buckle presentation of our own for bull rider and rope champs.

Since some of us can’t go to Vegas that time of year, maybe it’d be fun to bring it here!

Sorry I’ve been MIA , but we’ve been in construction mode and not I’ve not had time to focus on decorating or wedding planning!

So let’s chat! Let’s chat about table set ups. There is a lot to be said. In todays wedding trend, there isn’t typically all round tables or all rectangle tables. It tends to be a mixture of both.
I think if the rectangle tables are properly placed and reserved for your large family placing, or “ friend” table they work really well. But from what I’ve seen that works best if those large tables are thought out and communicated to the group that they have a reserved table. Otherwise I have found that most of the guests like to stay in smaller groups.
But your bigger groups like to stay that way, in a group. Because what happens, they move tables together.

I still like the traditional bridal party table. I think that there’s still something to be said about the importance of the people you choose to stand beside you. They deserve that recognition and you can really use that support through the wedding receptions’ hustle and bustle.

There are several options and alot will depend on your space and layout. But truly put some thought into your seating arrangements.

I have 2 fireplaces, 3 wedding arches, flowers, some amazing glassware for focal points, cowhides, several pieces of furniture, an outdoor chandelier, a few extra large picture frames for some cool props. Lace and crocheted table clothes.
Lots of random items.

My newest treasure is a burnt orange crushed velvet couch. I will be taking ownership this weekend. 🧡

I hope everyone had a wonderful Easter!

We had a productive work weekend at the upcoming venue, The Wild Sage Ranch LLC. I finally finished a few small design decor pieces.

I’ve had a few people ask me what services I’m offering.
Wedding planning, coordinating, and decorating will be exclusive to The Wild Sage Ranch ( except in rare instances of family/ close friends)
My services will be available for any party planning and decorating depending on my schedule at Wild Sage.
ALL events will vary depending on the decor and the services hired. Consultation will be required to determine the price. None of these services are part of The Wild Sage Ranch LLC and is a separate service offered but not required to rent the facility.

All of Special Daze Design decor will be available to rent. I will have everything listed eventually. This does not require my services as a decorator or planner.
All of these things were either bought in great / new condition or bought at a bargain or gifted and required a lot of detail and time AND money.
I do offer limited food services for small events. I can make a mean taco bar. I’ve been known to set up an awesome candy station (my popcorn balls and caramel apples are pretty bomb 😜 )

So when I can’t sleep, I try to at least be productive with my crazy mind. While I can’t solve all the worlds problems , maybe I can plan some cool parties or receptions.

Food is a huge huge expense for any large party. And I’ve been to weddings that were “fancy”/elegant , and then some were very casual.
Regardless of your style, people love eating GOOD food. Usually nothing that is extravagant is done well on a large scale. ( With the exception of a cousins wedding at the Country Club in Houston, is the only one I’ve seen pulled off impressively. I would have hated to see that bill by the way. )

I was challenged to come up with a creative idea for a meal. Something you don’t see just all the time or maybe haven’t seen at a wedding reception at all.

How about a FRANK BAR- take a look 👀
Coleslaw, chili, nacho cheese, shredded cheese, BBQ fixings, Caramelized onions and peppers, dill pickles, shredded cheese, diced onions, jalapeños, brats, jumbo franks, ” pigs in a blanket” with an option of classic, Hawaiian , and/ or bagel buns.
Serve them up with some home style baked beans and smoked Mac & Cheese.

Whatever it is , make sure it’s good but it doesn’t have to break you. I’d rather be unique and yummy than common and okay anyday 🤩🙃🤪😉😉

I finally finished a project for the bridal suite. I had an inspiration pic.
Brandi and I have a vision for the venue. The the bridal suite is super close to my 💖. I have love and happiness in my soul as I work on these items.

I priced a new diamond crush coffee table and it was $1900. While this is not crystals it’s still beautiful and my video does not do it justice and its still in the work room drying.

This is what gives me joy !

With permission to show, I’m putting together a graduation party for a turquoise,bling, and cowhide lovin’ girl.

So here is the line - up!
The decor will be a showcase of western turquoise jewelry, leather fashions, ( shoes and purses) and bling with pops of cowhide.

Man this is the fun part of the job! ❤️

Let’s focus a minute on the other female of the wedding party , most likely to steal attention away from the bride. 😉

You just never know what’s going to happen with these little gems. And that’s the beauty of it.

3 pieces of advice!
Let them be. If they just walk down the aisle and want to go sit with whomever, just let them. If they want to stand up there and twirl around, just let them.

Feel the inside of whatever dress is chosen. Some of them are itchy and scratchy and they will be very uncomfortable. No matter the outside - check the inside!
( but isn’t that great advice on everything in life 😊)

Include them on the fun part of make up and hair so they get familiar with your bridesmaids. A little blush and gloss and hair design helps every one!

There are so many dresses to choose from that will go with whatever style you’re going for. I even saw black. ( but I didn’t post )

Make it fun for your flower girls and remember, you set the tone and little ones are very perspective.
