Make new traditions or put your own spin on the standards. That's exactly what I did.
For my own wedding, I chose to have my grandmother 👩🏼🦳as my Maid of Honor.
My grandmother held a special place in my life and this was one of the ways I could let her know how much her love, support and friendship meant to me. I couldn't think of another person I wanted standing with me on that day.
Others may not get it, others may not understand it, but your wedding day should be personalized to you.

There was an article in People Magazine last Saturday about Eminem’s daughter Haile Jade dealing with “Post-Wedding Blues.” 💍
As someone who has had a wedding, and plans weddings, I know “The Blue Bride” struggle is real! 😥
Haile is experiencing that period after the wedding is over when you settle back into your life, without a daily “to-do” ✔️ list or being pulled in different decision-making directions.
For so many months📅, you have been planning every detail of one day. When you think about it, it was just a few hours in one day 🕧. But they were some of the most important hours in your life.
When the day is done, it’s not uncommon to feel a little down or even lost. 😕
Here are a few tips that may help you bounce back.👇🏻
🏃🏻♀️ Get back to the things you enjoyed pre-wedding. I’m sure a few things got put on the back burner while you were planning. It’s time to warm them up again! A hobby, working out, volunteering, whatever it was, it’s time to engage again.
🛠️ Start a home-improvement project with your new spouse. Nothing tests a marriage like a renovation😂, but this provides an opportunity to use those planning skills you honed and beautify your surroundings in the process.
👉🏻 Finally, if you caught the “planning” bug and enjoyed the process, offer to help a friend or family member plan their wedding or special event. I’m sure they would appreciate the help.
We often hear that a wedding is one day, and a marriage is a lifetime. 🧑🏻❤️👩🏻
If you do it right, your marriage and what you do with your time during your marriage, can be just as epic as your wedding! 💫

Weddings are full of little details ✔️, right down to the signature scents of the couple. I love seeing the "details" photoshoot📷 which often includes the scents of choice.
Both men and women have preferences for the scents that will forever spark memories of that beautiful day. ✨
But what are the rules for a signature scent? 🤔
There are none, but there are a few things to keep in mind.👉🏼
A signature scent is something you tend to wear every day. When you enter a room 👡, people know it’s you before they even see you.
As you wear a scent throughout the day, it reacts with your body chemistry to create something that's uniquely you, and that’s something to remember.
As your big day approaches, if you decide to make a change, take some precautions to ensure your signature scent works with you, and not against.🫸🏼
1. Test drive the scent many times. If you get a rash, the scent changes, or it results in other ill effects, don’t go with it. ❌ Don’t ruin your day over a scent obsession.
2. Apply lightly and carefully.💨 You don’t want to overwhelm yourself (or others) with the scent, and you certainly don’t want perfume stains! Factor in the season 🍂of the ceremony, and what your partner’s scent will be.
And finally, just be you. Consider how you want the scent to make you feel on this special day.😊
Whether it’s citrus, floral, earthy, or musk, make sure your signature scent is a reflection of you and triggers the sensory memory of a lifetime. 🤍

Today, I want to give a HUGE shoutout to one of the unsung heroes of wedding planning: the humble zip tie.
Seriously, I can't tell you how many times these little lifesavers have swooped in to save the day during setup! 💍✨
Did you know that zip ties were invented in 1958 by a man named Maurus C. Logan? He was working for Thomas & Betts, and his original intention was to help manage airplane wiring.
I'm sure Maurus never imagined how valuable his invention would be for wedding teams all over the world! 😂
From securing flower arrangements to managing cables, these tiny but mighty tools have been there through thick and thin.
So here's to you, Maurus, for making our lives a whole lot easier and our wedding setups a whole lot smoother! 🥂
