Fury Maru 💥
✔️ Tall, strong stems
✔️ Consistent bloomer all season
❓ Tubers were just okay — possibly because they were planted in a low spot. Some lenticels, so may not offer many this season.
✔️ Excellent as a cut flower
✔️ Bloom size: 4–5” without disbudding
She’s definitely worth hunting for — and I’ll absolutely be growing more next season! 🌸

Mid to late bloomer but worth every minute—Hy Beacon stands tall and strong! Her 4-inch blooms, sturdy stems, and reliable tubers make her a top-ten keeper in my cutting garden. Three seasons in, and I just keep growing more of her. 💕🌸

1200+ tubers out of the ground! What a beautiful fall we had for harvesting, so grateful! Now to clean-up the mess…maybe next week? 🤣

Another few days left of inventory and dividing and then I will work on updating our website with what we will have available for this season. Overall an excellent harvest, per usual about 1/4 of the cuttings didn’t create tubers or very small, we should have lots of options for you! Expect a sale date to be announced in the next few weeks. We’re thrilled to announce our Keynote Speakers for the Kruse Flower Show in Auburn, Indiana, happening March 27 & 28 — Eugene and Rosie of River’s Dahlias!

Eugene and Rosie have hybridized hundreds of stunning, one-of-a-kind dahlias and are deeply involved with the American Dahlia Society. They’re two of the kindest people you’ll ever meet and are passionate about sharing their dahlia knowledge and love of the flower world. 🌺

During their keynote address, we’ll get to hear all about their inspiring journey — and they’ll also be leading a workshop!

🌸 Farm Swap = Twice the Dahlias! 🌸

This year I tried something new — and I’m so glad I did! Starting early this spring, my friend Angie of Avia Gardens and I began spending one day a week (sometimes more!) at each other’s farms.
I can’t tell you how much more we’ve accomplished — and how much more enjoyable those daily tasks have been — when tackling them with a friend! When we’re at my farm, I set the day’s agenda; when we’re at Avia Gardens, Angie leads the way. It’s been such a gift to have a helping hand, sounding board, a problem-solving partner, and an all-around encourager in each of our farm journeys.
While our farms are still separate, we did team up this year on one exciting project — growing dahlias!

🌺That means great news for all of our dahlia customers — we’ll have twice as many dahlia tubers available through Willow Lane’s website and at our in-person sale in March! These dahlias have had double the love and care this year, and we can’t wait to share our catalog with you soon.

“Frostmas”

Today marks the end of the season. What a season it has been! It was such a pleasure to see these dahlias enjoyed by so many!

Now it’s harvest time, I’m always fascinated to see what has been going on below ground. So far overall the tubers are looking plump and healthy.
