🍃DAHLIA CUTTING CLASS🍃

When: Feb. 23rd (Sunday)
Time: 2-3:30pm
Cost: $65

Did you know you can turn one dahlia tuber into 6+ plants?

Want to learn how to multiply your blooms this summer! Collecting starts(cuttings) from your tuber is an excellent way!

I will show you the tips and tricks that I’ve learned over the last few years! You will go home with 2 potted cuttings(several named varieties to select from) and supplies for 4 more. Additionally a cozy propagation house like in the picture to root your new cuttings. I’ll also have some mystery tubers available to take home for experimenting with.

Registration will open early January, stay tuned!! You are welcome to comment below or message me if you would like a personal reminder when registration is loaded on the website.

We have secured a beautiful bright modern venue just north of Fort Wayne to host 8+ dahlia growers from Ohio, Michigan and Indiana! Additionally one vendor that specializes in seed starts such as lisanthus. We are also working on packing the day full of social opportunities, swap sessions and a class or two! You won’t want to miss it!

If you grow more than 300 Dahlias and would be interested in a vendor space to sell dahlia tubers or cuttings, please message me for details, we only have one spot left!

Today our family celebrates Thanksgiving! We are keeping it simple this year.

It’s also the week we start decorating for Christmas as my daughter is home from university.

Putting the ornaments on the tree is one of my favorite things! Do you have favorite ornaments or a style you collect? Years ago, dear friends started my fused glass ornament collection and they are still some of my favorites.

So grateful for you all and our shared love of dahlias! Wishing you all time with loved ones as we take a rest, and gear up for another season!

SHOPPING
Please select your wish list from the cultivar price list below, Email to [email protected]. We will work in random order, however, please note your top three choices as we will try and honor at least one of these top choices from everyone before moving on to the other top choices on your list. We will print out everyone's list, mix them up and pull them out randomly to work on. We don't want you to have to rush to submit your order. Take your time and create your dream wish list! Keep in mind we are only pulling the tubers that show the strongest sign of eyes so we may not be able to honor everything this fall. We have a MUCH LARGER in-person sale March 16th.

PAYMENT
Once we have had a chance to review your list and confirm availability, we will reach out to you to let you know what we have. We will have your tubers set aside for you to review the day of the sale. Please look each ONE over to confirm a visible eye or acceptable tuber condition. ALL SALES ARE FINAL!! We will not be offering refunds or replacements should your tuber not create a sprout in the spring. Other circumstance will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis, but we reserve the right to our final sale policy at these in-person sales. If you are not 100% comfortable with your tuber, please set it aside and try again in the spring. If you are new to growing dahlias, we would also suggest waiting to our spring sale to purchase tubers, this fall sale is geared to those that want to start taking cuttings in late winter. This is a CASH only sale.

UGLIES and GIVE-A-WAYS
We will have a couple of baskets of uglies to look through just for some last-minute shopping! We have also planned a couple of fun give-a-ways for those attending, including some new introductions from this season. Everyone will have a chance to take home a free tuber, maybe even one from the top of your wish list!

PARKING
Please note that we are in a residential neighborhood, down a 1/4-mile-long lane and parking is limited. We will aim to have someone helping direct parking but follow the lane until you reach the hoophouse. Once we have your wish-list I will confirm with what we have for you and send our address in Fort Wayne, near Huntertown.

POT-LUCK
We considered organizing a restaurant lunch but, in the end, thought that it might be easier to have a potluck in the lower level of our house so that everyone can wander and chat. We will have coffee, juice, water and paper products, but please bring your favorite brunch dish to share! We look forward to connecting with other dahlia enthusiasts!

What: an opportunity to pre-order/pickup from the varieties that did well for us and we have excess tubers of. You will be responsible to confirm each tuber has an eye before final purchase. A fun morning to interact with other dahlia enthusiasts, followed by an optional late lunch after, more details soon.

I took a break yesterday from dahlia harvesting and played with the remainder of the dahlias that survived the last frosts. There are now 8 arrangements scattered throughout the house and front porch ! Sometimes as a flower farmer you don’t take the time to truly enjoy the flowers, it was just the break I needed!

Hope all you dahlia farmers are finding a way to come up for air! 🌺

I imagine a lot of you are in the middle of harvest! Show us what you are finding! I had one field that was almost unusable.. But then I harvested from the 10 gallon grow bags!! Huge success!! Check out the size of these tubers from this mystery dahlia…was sold to me as Danique.

Today, the first frost, is a happy/sad day for a flower farmer! It marks the end of the gorgeous display these beauties have provided us with the past few months, but it marks the beginning of harvest! Harvest is a much anticipated activity as that will help us plan for next season!

Edit: SOLD OUT!

🌱🌼Local Fall Cutting Sale🌼🌱

Please note this is recommended for experienced cutting growers and sorry, no shipping, I’m afraid it will be too cold. You will have to love and care for these babies all winter! But they will reward you with many babies if you opt to take additional cuttings! A perfect way to grow your collection!

$100 - 6-pack multiple varieties (limit 1 of the same cultivar per pack) 6 different cultivars from the list below!

These will be cut this week. Fall cuttings tend to take longer to root, it’s a patience game this time of year, therefore I cannot guarantee all will have roots at pickup. Each cutting will be dipped and washed with -EDIT: should say Milstop not Talstar -(to remove any powdery mildew) and then dipped in Avid to eliminate any active pest activity. Finally dipped in root hormone and into their warm cozy home.

I’m only offering a limited amount of these, message me with your requests. Pickup is anytime after Thursday up until Nov. 23rd( this is hopefully our fall in-person tuber sale, more son!)
