A great way to support Reno County Dreamers!

The DACA program has been a lifeline for so many young people who were brought to the United States as children, allowing them the opportunity to pursue their dreams, build careers, and contribute to the fabric of our communities. As uncertainty around immigration policy continues, it's more important than ever that we support Dreamers-ensuring they can work, study, and thrive without the constant fear of losing their status.

However, the need for financial assistance to cover DACA renewal costs far exceeds our current capacity. Thanks to a generous donation, we were able to share the life-changing news with two local residents that their DACA renewal fees had been fully funded.

One of these recipients, Melissa, works as a
911 Dispatcher and expressed the deep significance of her DACA status: "Being of help to the public is what I am intended to do...I couldn't do that without my DACA.” Melissa and her family are now able to live with greater security and stability, and we are honored to be a part of this crucial moment in their lives.

But there is more work to be done. Our goal is to support 10 DACA recipients in Reno County with pending renewal requests by the end of this year. By contributing to this cause, you can directly impact the futures of Dreamers-helping them to continue making invaluable contributions to our communities and ensuring their dreams are not interrupted.

We are absolutely honored to have had the opportunity to host this year’s 2024 NAACP Annual Freedom Fund Dinner. It wouldn’t be possible without your support.

It’s not everyday that we get to transform an entire room with backdrops, lights, silverware, linens, runners, centerpieces, napkins, and dining service while fighting for a more equitable future in our community alongside amazing organizations and people.

Sometimes, you just need to put your ideas together in one place. In Bryan’s case, he wanted to be as involved as possible but just needed to know a good place to start. We supported him throughout and the family helped with setup. He brought his vision to life with rose petals, heart lights, and voila, a beautiful, intimate engagement with his future bride and close family!

Congratulations to Lizbeth and Bryan on their engagement! 🥳
