one thing about me: I will never not cry at a good set of vows. perhaps it’s the writer in me, or the hopeless romantic. (definitely both)

this ceremony was no different - I was an absolute mess behind the camera and loved every second. to be fair, there wasn’t a dry eye in the house!! the vows were a little too good (no such thing hehe)

a few tears, a little laughter, and a whole lotta love. not to mention, a freakin beautiful setting!!

this send off >>>> I love that streamers have become a recent staple for wedding exits, they’re a little safer than handing out fire sticks to guests who may or may not have had a couple of visits to the open bar 😉 (no judgement I truly love a good sparkler exit) but the streamers are just TOO FUN and they’re so beautiful

but the cherry on top: the pedicab getaway car like are you kidding me 😭 literally the most Austin exit I’ve ever seen!!! 10/10 would recommend

oh my freaking gosh I love these two SO much. I have loved sharing in their journey together. we’ve been working together since their surprise proposal at the McDonald Observatory in April of ‘22 - we then headed back to West Texas at the end of the same year to take their engagement photos in Big Bend!!!! I am OVERJOYED to have spent so much time with such sweet souls and to be sharing some highlights from their wedding day 🤍🤍🤍 (definitely sad it’s over ngl) 🥹

I’ve gotta be honest with you.

Yesterday was kind of a rough one for me. I know what you’re thinking - “it’s only the third day of the year, your new meditation practice hasn’t completely changed your life yet?” and all jokes aside, there IS a part of me that craves the instant gratification of my life being different three days after implementing a change in habits.

Anyways. It was nothing in particular, I just began to spiral. Thinking about all the ways I could fail, doubting my place in my profession, overanalyzing the smallest things, and flat out comparing my journey to others - you know, that good old imposter syndrome. My brain is telling me that this thing I’m doing isn’t good enough, that I’m not good enough - so it MUST be true. Luckily, I know better. Just because I am having this thought, doesn’t make that thought true. Still, I went to bed last night with a headache and some lingering anxiety.

As creatives, I think we all have this tendency to measure our worth and success in silly ways and tell ourselves this story that we are constantly behind, instead of taking a moment to see how far we’ve actually come.

I woke up to text this morning from that brought tears to my eyes and quite literally made my week because of how out of the blue it was. When I first moved to Jacksonville I had the chance to work with Kelly and her husband Cameron. I wanted to add some new work to my portfolio and they graciously woke up before sunrise to shoot with me. Her text was something I didn’t know I needed, as if Kelly were the universe telling me to stop and take a look around every once and awhile. (Ily Kelly!!!)

All of this to say, we’re all doing a lot better than we think we are. As my mentor says, progress is progress no matter how small.

In honor of this text, I’m throwing it back and sharing some of my favorites from this shoot with Kelly + Cameron 🫶🏻

like a scene from a movie 🤍

I love love love using motion blur intentionally, but these were completely by accident and some of my favorite from this particular session. how they convey the laughter, excitement, and freedom of running through the water on an empty beach with the love of your life. simple, effortless, and full of joy.
