He’s pretty shy, but has come a long way since he first arrived at the Hill.
He’s a rescue we’ve had going on two years.. yes, we’ve had him that long now, and not many people have seen him.
He’s had a traumatic history, but that’s in his past- he is SO loved at the Hill. It has taken him this whole year to feel he can truly trust us and he’s showing us- he’s finally feeling safe. His first year with us, was spent mostly in hiding.. it was very heartbreaking. But now- he’s showing us he’s coming into his own, one day at a time.
So, if you feel so inclined to add to your family, please adopt from our local shelters. There are so many sweet pets who need love and a home, and you’ll make a fur-ever friend. If adopting isn’t a possibility, consider a donation in any form from food and pet items to money, if possible.
We hope you’ll stop in and meet Basil… or look for him after hours and he shimmies through the shop. He really is quite special and ever so handsome.😻

First, my eyes, have to pass what this couple is wearing. So classic. So sophisticated. They looked chic and amazing.
Then, the insanely beautiful red velvet cake by the immensely talented Jackie Joseph- this cake was sooo delicious… yes, I did taste it.
And I’m going to humble brag- their flowers were refined, elegant and perfect for their private setting.

I've gotta say... this was one dreamy, swoon worthy bouquet. Those peony were..every-thang!
Moody, deep plum, mini calla, roses, velvety grey foliage and whispy ebony agonis. Lots of yummy stuff in there. Ummm...Yes, please!

Cyndi McHolland, a Jeff local, living downtown on the river….was queen of the Sunflowers, and always, always, generously shared with us the beautiful bounty of blooms and foliages from her garden.
In the Language of Flowers, the meaning associated with Sunflowers (known as Helianthus in its formal name)… is as follows:
‘Sunflowers always face and follow the sun. They radiate pure joy and positive vibes. Sunflowers symbolize unwavering faith and unconditional love.’
If that meaning doesn’t accurately represent Cyndi- then we’re not sure what does.
You are missed, beautiful Cyndi, but always remembered.❤️🌻 Your garden is still sharing its beautiful blooms, for that we thank you!

Come and get some boxes- all are clean, no fragrance in them and sturdy for shipping or storage. We’d rather repurpose than break them down- we’re in the shop 9-5:30 today and 10-3 Saturday.

This was one lovely wedding from the early fall season. It’s wonderful when a couple has the right team in place, and everything comes together. This bouquet was a perfect compliment to the dress and stature of our beautiful bride. If you have a wedding in ‘23 or beyond, give us a call. We’d love to create something beautiful for you as well.

I’ve been out of town freelancing this past holiday weekend. As I headed home, I stoped at my old flower market in Chicago- of course I wanted one of everything. Travel is great, but it’s always good to come home.

How we spent our Sunday morning. Flowering for a Fashion Show.
We had a new to us customer call yesterday. She found us after calling multiple shops asking for a solid heart of roses for her sister’s passing. The services are today. Due to the major interruption in floral supplies- along with everything else- the pre-made supplies needed to make this heart are not available. Thanks to our design background and experience, we were able to create what she wanted with no issues. Education is key in our industry, and the reason we can take on tasks other shops might pass on- and we love a challenge! We’re grateful for the opportunity to help this client send her last floral gift to her sister. Her requests- solid heart on easel, texture, shades of pink and a ribbon with ‘Sister’. Mission accomplished.
